Attack on Titan: The Last Attack Prepares For War With New Trailer

As a die-hard fan of Attack on Titan since its early days, I can confidently say that the upcoming movie, The Last Attack, is a cause for great excitement. Having followed Eren and his comrades through their harrowing journey, it’s heartening to see the final chapters getting a cinematic treatment. With a runtime of over two hours, I’m ready to be swept away by the remastered footage, eagerly anticipating how Studio MAPPA will breathe new life into these beloved episodes.

Despite wrapping up its manga and anime adaptations, the “Attack on Titan” franchise isn’t leaving the world of anime anytime soon. This year, the intense series announced plans to release its first movie titled “Attack on Titan: The Final Battle“. Unlike creating a new story for the big screen, the franchise is combining the climactic episodes from the series into an exhilarating cinematic experience. Although the upcoming film explores familiar territory, “Attack on Titan” offers fans a sneak peek of remastered footage through a new trailer and poster for “The Final Battle“.

For the highly anticipated “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack” film, it combines the episodes from the “Attack on Titan Final Season: The Final Chapters” series. With a runtime of approximately two hours and twenty-five minutes (145 minutes), this will be the longest anime movie to date. Given the epic battles and emotional scenes in these final chapters, the episodes are perfectly suited for cinematic adaptation. The film is set to premiere in Japan on November 8th, but as of now, there’s no word on its release in North American theaters.

Attack on Titan: The Last Attack’s New Trailer & Poster

The freshly unveiled trailer offers a glimpse into the topics explored in “The Last Attack,” focusing on significant moments like the destructive onslaught of the Rumbling, Hange’s ultimate offensive, and the climactic confrontation against the new Founder Titan, Eren Jaeger. Previously, Studio MAPPA has been recognized for innovative adaptations of earlier anime episodes, with “Jujutsu Kaisen” serving as a notable example. As the release date for the compilation films draws near, fans of Attack on Titan can eagerly anticipate witnessing how the production team has reworked scenes from the original television series for the big screen.

Anime Compilations Films Are In

Theater screenings of anime are proving to be lucrative ventures for studios, with Japan witnessing substantial examples of this trend recently. One notable instance is Demon Slayer, which has continued to generate income through compilation films following the phenomenal success of its first movie, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. Other anime series like Bocchi The Rock, Gintama, and Mobile Suit Gundam have also capitalized on this trend by releasing compilation films, mirroring the success of the Demon Slayer Corps. As the popularity of anime continues to soar, it seems inevitable that we’ll see more of these compilation movies in the future.

Attack on Titan’s Future

The original creator of “Attack on Titan,” Hajime Isayama, has stated that he doesn’t intend to create a sequel for the Scout Regiment’s story. However, this hasn’t stopped him from delving back into his famous universe, as evidenced by the recently published “Attack on Titan: Bad Boy.” This short story appeared in the manga’s latest art book and delves into Levi’s early days, well before he became a Scout and utilized three-dimensional maneuver gear. Given that the anime adaptation has already brought various side stories to life, there’s a possibility that Levi’s prequel story might make its way onto screens. Even if “Attack on Titan” doesn’t produce any new animated projects in the future, it’s clear that the franchise will continue to leave a lasting impact in the anime world.
