As someone who has lost a loved one far too early in my own life, I cannot help but feel a profound sense of sorrow for the family and friends of Gursimran Kaur. The fact that she was just 19 years old, and had only recently moved to Canada with her mother, makes this tragedy all the more heart-wrenching.

New information has emerged about the heartbreaking death of a Canadian Walmart employee.

It has been reported by NBC News that the individual discovered deceased in a walk-in bakery oven within a Halifax, Canada store on October 19th was identified as Gursimran Kaur.

Approximately two years ago, Kaur and her mother relocated from India to Canada, where they both work at Walmart as a team. A GoFundMe page established by the Sikh Society reveals that it was Kaur’s mother who discovered her daughter in the oven after an hour-long search, as she had been unable to locate her.

On the very day an unfortunate event transpired, Satnam Randhawa from the Halifax Maritime Sikh Society recalled to NBC News that it was the first time he had ever laid eyes on her, and she appeared deeply troubled, bearing visible signs of distress.

Kaur and her mom often visited the Sikh Society’s places of worship, and according to Randhawa, they’re making arrangements to bring Kaur’s father and 10-year-old brother, who are currently in India, to Canada.

The 911 call’s recording described the heartbreaking incident where a dispatch officer informed emergency workers, as heard in the audio obtained by the Daily Mail, “A woman is trapped inside an oven at the bakery. It’s unclear if the staff can switch off the oven.

Upon their arrival, the first responder had already turned off the oven and found the individual safely outside.

TopMob News contacted the Nova Scotia Emergency Management office for a response about the 911 call, but have yet to receive one.
