LeFranc, who serves as showrunner for “The Penguin,” explained, “We act as a bridge connecting the two films. We’re transitioning almost directly into ‘The Batman: Part Two’ that Matt [Reeves] has planned.” Essentially, “The Penguin” series functions as the link between the big-screen installments of “The Batman.” Reeves was drawn to the opportunity to construct an intricate Batman crime world around his interpretation of The Dark Knight.
