The Penguin Showrunner Confirms Series Sets Up The Batman Sequel
Matt Reeves and Lauren LeFranc, the creators behind “The Penguin” HBO series, have announced that it will seamlessly lead into “The Batman: Part Two.” In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, they discussed how this drama set in the “The Batman” universe bridges the gap between the two films. LeFranc, who serves as showrunner for “The Penguin,” explained, “We act as a bridge connecting the two films. We’re transitioning almost directly into ‘The Batman: Part Two’ that Matt [Reeves] has planned.” Essentially, “The Penguin” series functions as the link between the big-screen installments of “The Batman.” Reeves was drawn to the opportunity to construct an intricate Batman crime world around his interpretation of The Dark Knight.
