I can hardly contain my excitement! At long last, the next installment in the Mafia series has been officially unveiled, as rumors had suggested for months. Dubbed “Mafia: The Old Country,” this highly anticipated title was announced by 2K and developer Hangar 13 to cap off Gamescom Opening Night Live.

For several months, Willow Nightingale of AEW has been locked in a bitter rivalry with her good friend and TBS Champion Kris Statlander. The friendship soured due to Stokely Hathaway’s interference, culminating in his attack on Nightingale at Double or Nothing in May. Despite appearing sympathetic, Statlander was actually deceiving her friend. She ultimately betrayed her by kicking her down, marking the start of Statlander’s villainous transformation (heel turn), and paving the way for Mercedes Mon? to claim the TBS title.

In the previous year, during Gamescom Opening Night Live, publisher Bandai Namco unveiled Little Nightmares 3. It was announced that the original creators, Tarsier Studios, have moved on to another project, and Supermassive Games (known for creating Until Dawn) will now be handling the development. Initially intended for release this year, the decision was made to postpone Little Nightmares 3 until 2025. However, this delay allowed the team to present a new trailer at this year’s Gamescom ONL, exciting fans. Although it didn’t showcase much groundbreaking content, the 90-second video did offer a peek into the cooperative gameplay style of the upcoming title.

At Gamescom Opening Night Live, the animated series “Secret Level” by Prime Video was formally unveiled. During the event, Tim Miller (creator of “Deadpool”), who serves as the creative director, showcased the debut trailer for the series. This animated anthology will feature various video games. Previous leaks provided some information, but this fresh look offers a clearer picture of what to anticipate from the show. During Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle made its anticipated debut, bringing along some exciting updates for spectators: they revealed the game’s launch date and confirmed that there will be a PlayStation 5 version of the game. Bethesda and Xbox have announced that MachineGames’ new Indiana Jones title will hit shelves on December 9th, with early access varying based on the edition of the game you purchase. The PS5 release is indeed planned, but players won’t get their hands on it until Spring 2025, making it a timed exclusive for Xbox in the meantime.
