Avatar: The Last Airbender Stars Tease Season 2 With Their Intense Training Schedule

As a long-time fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the live-action series since its announcement. Having grown up with the original animated series, I can confidently say that I’ve watched each episode countless times, and it holds a special place in my heart.

At this year’s Netflix Geeked Week Event, there was exciting news for fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender’s live-action series. For quite some time, viewers had been eagerly anticipating who would portray Toph, the blind earth bender that assists Aang in his bending lessons. Notably, it was announced that Miya Cech has joined the cast for season two and beyond. Additionally, we here at egmr.ru were privileged to speak with two of the show’s original actors. Ian Ousely, who plays Sokka, and Dallas Liu, portraying Prince Zuko, attended Geeked Week on the red carpet to discuss the upcoming season and their progress in preparing for the series’ comeback.

At the beginning of our conversation, we pointed out that Gordon Cormier, who plays Aang in the live-action version, previously mentioned that he had seen the original Avatar: The Last Airbender series multiple times. Dallas Liu jokingly questioned this statement, “Are we really supposed to believe he’s watched it twenty-seven times? I’ve heard varying numbers before. It started at eight and then went up to twenty-four, now twenty-seven?” Ian Ousley shared that although he hasn’t seen the animated series that many times, he did grow up alongside Aang and his fellow benders, “We were brought up on the show, so our memories are more deeply ingrained. The series came out before his time, so it makes sense. I only watched it once to transition to season two.

Avatar’s Second Season Boot Camp Has Begun

Dallas and Ian are both undergoing rigorous training, also known as “Boot Camp,” in preparation for the new season. They’re focusing on developing their individual character’s fighting techniques. Specifically, Ian is perfecting his skills with weapons, while Dallas is working on some exciting wire work and enhancing Zuko’s fire bending. There’s also a lot of emphasis on flexibility through stretching exercises. Ousley humorously emphasized the importance of these stretches, stating “Believe me, there’s an awful lot of stretching involved!

What Will Sokka And Zukko Be Up To In Season Two?

In the next season of this animated series, viewers will notice a greater emphasis on the Earth Kingdom. Simultaneously, Aang is honing his Earth-bending abilities with Toph, while Sokka is developing new talents distinct from his own. Although Sokka may not have water-bending powers like his sister, his strategic intellect and unique weaponry make him a valuable asset in combat situations alongside his friends. Despite the loss of his romantic interest in the season finale, fans can anticipate Sokka finding love again as the series progresses.

In the upcoming live-action version, the character of Prince Zuko becomes more intricate and complex. Although he was seen pursuing the Avatar at the end of the first season, fans who have watched the animated series are aware that Zuko is grappling with personal conflicts. With Princess Azula and her ruthless allies planning to apprehend both Zuko and Aang, tensions between Zuko and Uncle Iroh will rise significantly. For those new to the world of bending in this adaptation, be prepared for some surprising developments regarding Dallas Liu’s character in the second season.
