Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the dynamic duo, the Russo Brothers, are gathering an extraordinary ensemble for the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installments titled Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Six years have passed since Anthony and Joe Russo concluded the epic 10-year Infinity Saga with consecutive Avengers sequels, specifically 2018’s Infinity War and 2019’s Endgame. Now, they are ready to embark on a new London-based Marvel Studios adventure, with the confirmed cast so far being Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Doctor Doom, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, and the stellar cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Joe Russo stated in an interview with Deadline, concerning their upcoming Netflix film ‘The Electric State’, that all the shootings will be done in London and they’re scheduled quite close together. He added that it requires a lot of effort, and whether they make it through or not remains to be seen.

He expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “However, we’re thrilled about this project. We’ve discovered a unique angle into the narrative that we believe will pose a intriguing challenge for viewers, and one that’s equally challenging for us to bring to life. It’s truly exhilarating for us, it fuels our passion to work on it.

Prior to the Russo Brothers agreeing to helm it, there were reports from last summer suggesting that over 60 characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe might return for an assembly that has been referred to as one of Marvel’s biggest productions yet.

In the report, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Karen Gillan’s Nebula, Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi, and Tom Hiddleston’s Loki were mentioned as characters. However, it remains uncertain how the cast might have shifted following Marvel Studios’ decision to abandon Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror and rename “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” to “Avengers: Doomsday”.

Joe Russo responded ambiguously when asked about a potential crossover between X-Men and Deadpool characters, following last year’s dimension-crossing Deadpool & Wolverine. He stated that he is unsure about who we might encounter in the future, expressing his continued uncertainty: “I have no idea who we’ll see.

“Anybody in the Marvel bag could show up in this movie,” he added.

2015’s “Secret Wars” comic book series depicted two universes – Marvel Universe (known as Earth-616) and Ultimate Marvel Universe (Earth-1610) – heading towards a collision due to a succession of events that threatened the existence of all universes. Since only one universe could endure after a purge across multiple realities, the heroes from each world were compelled to fight against each other. The villainous God Emperor Doom then utilized the power he had stolen from the Beyonders, cosmic entities, to build Battleworld, a planet made up of patches from various destroyed universes.

Doomsday, scheduled for May 1, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars, set for May 7, 2027, according to Disney.
