A picture showing the cast of “Avengers: Doomsday” was recently shared, dispelling a speculation about Robert Downey Jr.’s hairstyle. With “Thunderbolts” hitting theaters this week, it marks an exciting time for Marvel Studios as they begin the gradual lead-up to “Avengers: Doomsday.” Some of the stars from “Avengers: Doomsday” attended a private screening of “Thunderbolts,” including Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, and Robert Downey Jr. Fans had imagined what Downey Jr.’s Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom might look like based on earlier pictures featuring the actor with curly hair; however, today’s picture sets the record straight.
Robert Downey Jr. expressed his amazement on Instagram with the caption, “Simply incredible! Dinner and a show with the new Avengers crew,” referring to a gathering with Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Channing Tatum (Gambit), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Thing), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Winston Duke (M’Baku), and Anthony Mackie (Captain America). He also praised them with a big congratulations, using the hashtag #thunderbolts. A photo of them together was included in his post. Notably, Downey Jr.’s haircut now appears shorter compared to the curly hairstyle he sported earlier in April when he sent out Doctor Doom-themed birthday invitations.

Actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Shang-Chi, posted a picture from the Thunderbolts screening without Kirby and Moss-Bachrach present. The team posed unitedly in front of a theater screen displaying the Thunderbolts logo. In his message accompanying the photo, Liu urged fans to catch Thunderbolts in theaters.
Today, a purported cast roster for “Avengers: Doomsday” surfaced online, with insider Jeff Sneider advising caution but mentioning several big names that Marvel fans might anticipate for “Doomsday”. The list includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo, Karen Gillan, Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Chris Pratt. Emerging stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are also on the list, such as Will Poulter, Xochitl Gomez, Tatiana Maslany, and Yahya Abdul Mateen, who is set to appear as Simon Williams in the forthcoming “Wonder Man” series on Disney+. As always, rumors of Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell’s participation persist.
We might have to wait a bit until we can catch a glimpse of Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal as Doctor Doom, as Avengers: Doomsday is being filmed in the UK at the moment. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo haven’t shied away from sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the set.
