Avengers: Doomsday Fan Poster Teases RDJ's Doctor Doom Look

As a die-hard Marvel fan, I am beyond thrilled to see Robert Downey Jr.’s potential transformation into Doctor Doom in the MCU! The idea of having the charisma and wit of Tony Stark merged with the menace and power of one of Marvel’s most iconic villains is a tantalizing prospect.

1. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Robert Downey Jr., known for his role in Iron Man, could potentially portray Doctor Doom, though this hasn’t been officially confirmed. Fans got a hint of this during Marvel Studios’ Comic-Con panel at San Diego over the weekend. The idea of Downey as Doom has already sparked curiosity among fans, who are eager to see how this characterization might unfold.

Fortunately, we reside in an era where artists like BossLogic produce captivating depictions swiftly. In BossLogic’s case, he unveiled two chilling images, one drawing inspiration from the renowned “Infamous Iron Man” series.

Did RDJ tease his MCU return?

Despite the belief that Downey’s Marvel Cinematic Universe days had ended following Avengers: Endgame, the actor expressed an unexpected openness to a possible return as recent as June.

1. “It feels incredibly natural for me to play this character, almost as if it’s part of who I am deep down, despite the fact that he seems much cooler than I do. A month ago, in a Variety video, I admitted that I’ve become more open-minded about the role. It’s hard to believe, but we actually look quite similar on screen. I couldn’t help but double-check the pictures we were taking, making sure: ‘Are we still looking alright?’ And guess what? We really do!” (Downey)

In a different conversation, Downey shared that he would never wager against Marvel Studios leader, Kevin Feige, and his unwavering commitment to the franchise he manages. “I often say: Never place a bet against Kevin Feige. It’s an unfavorable wager. He is the casino. He will always come out on top.” (paraphrased)

Previously, it was revealed that the cast of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” – Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/the Thing – will make appearances in not only “Avengers: Doomsday“, but also “Avengers: Secret Wars”.

Marvel Studios has announced the following release dates for their upcoming movies: “Captain America: Brave New World” on February 14, 2025, “Thunderbolts” in May 2025, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” in July 25, 2025, “Blade” in November 7, 2025, “Avengers: Doomsday” on May 1, 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars” on May 7, 2027.
