Avengers’ Jeremy Renner Jokes About Snowplow Accident Recover: “F-ck Iron Man”

As a follower and admirer of Jeremy Renner, I find his resilience and spirit truly inspiring. His life experiences, particularly the snow plow accident that nearly took his life, have not only made him stronger but also given him an unique perspective on life.

Jeremy Renner is moving towards becoming a true-life Titanium Individual following his snow plow accident in January 2023. The actor has returned to work and appeared to have full mobility during the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, as reported by Variety. When questioned about any restrictions imposed by his injuries, Renner humorously responded: “I don’t think of it as limitations – even though I’m 25% made of titanium, so not quite like Iron Man.

After his accident, Renner underwent extensive surgery and needed several months of rehabilitation just to walk again. While it’s uncertain if he truly has a quarter of his body made of titanium, he has discussed some of the metal components, like plates and screws, used in his reconstructive surgeries. Notably, Renner is famous for portraying Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so his Iron Man reference is quite apt. Coincidentally, as the franchise welcomes back stars from his era, this tidbit about his body parts comes at an intriguing moment.

On New Year’s Day, 2023, Renner sustained injuries at his secluded mountain residence in Nevada, as he attempted to shovel snow from his driveway so his family could safely enter and leave. He was operating a heavy Snowcat – a snow-clearing vehicle that weighs more than 14,000 pounds – when the incident occurred. Renner explained that he had assumed the machine was stationary, but it began to move unexpectedly towards his nephew. In an attempt to grab control, he rushed towards it, but instead, the Snowcat toppled over him.

In a helicopter ride to a nearby trauma facility, Renner spent more than two weeks in intensive care. Since then, he’s revealed some harrowing experiences to Jimmy Fallon, explaining that his legs were severely deformed, an eye was dislodged, and one of his lungs collapsed, among other injuries. During the same interview, Renner pointed to his left shin and remarked, “This is metal,” adding that half his face and the entire right side of his back are also made of metal.

To mark the first anniversary of the incident, Renner unveiled an album of self-composed tracks titled “Love and Titanium“. Furthermore, he disclosed that he’s currently working on a book based on his personal experiences. He expressed: “During this entire journey, I’ve been finalizing the edits for the book, so it’s quite fresh in my mind as I’ve often tried to distance myself from it. There are numerous blessings that come from being pushed to the brink of death. Since I did die and returned, I didn’t choose this, but I came back, and I’m thankful for that.

A Knives Out Mystery”. This is his first full-length movie since his accident and was filmed during the summer. Renner shared with fans on Tuesday that it’s due for release in fall 2025. He also mentioned, “It boasts an exceptional cast, we had a blast making it, and I believe audiences will find pleasure in watching this third installment of the series.
