Avowed Delayed to February 2025

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for immersive RPGs and a knack for managing my gaming backlog, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and frustration upon hearing the news about Avowed being delayed until February 2025. On one hand, I understand the need for developers to ensure their games are polished to perfection, and I’m excited about the prospect of diving into the rich fantasy world Obsidian Entertainment promises with Avowed.

As an ardent follower of gaming news, I’ve got some not-so-great but still important information about the release date for Avowed. The buzz around town was right; it seems we’ll have to wait a bit longer, with the official confirmation pointing towards a shift into early 2025.

Initially scheduled for a fall launch, Obsidian Entertainment hinted in October that their fantasy RPG would be coming out in November. Previous rumors also pointed to this date, although neither Obsidian nor Microsoft had made an official announcement about it. Now, however, Microsoft has confirmed on Twitter that the game will be released on February 18, 2025.

“The company announced they are delaying the release of Avowed until February 18, 2025, providing gamers with additional time to catch up on their game collections.”

For the second half of 2024, Microsoft has a busy lineup of releases, featuring games like “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,” “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6,” “Ara: History Untold,” “Age of Mythology; Retold,” “Towerborne,” and “Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.” Expansions such as “World of Warcraft: The War Within,” “Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred,” and “Starfield: Shattered Space” are also planned. Additionally, GSC Game World’s exclusive Xbox title, “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl,” is set for release in November.

In the same vein as other Microsoft games confirmed for a 2025 release – such as Fable, South of Midnight, DOOM: The Dark Ages, and possibly Gears of War: E-Day if leaks are to be believed – Avowed has now joined the lineup.

Microsoft has revealed that “Avowed” will join around fifty other games showcased at their Gamescom booth towards the end of this month. Moreover, a live stream is scheduled for August 23, offering fresh updates regarding the game.

Due to an influx of upcoming games, we’re shifting the release date of Avowed to February 18, 2025. This gives players some time to catch up on their game backlogs before diving into our new offerings. Keep an eye out for updates from Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios at gamescom, including a sneak peek at Avowed during our August 23 livestream.
