Avowed Is Getting an Early Access Option and a Surprise Battle.net Release

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, the news about “Avowed” has me more than just excited – it’s got me positively gleaming! I’ve been eagerly awaiting this game since its announcement back in 2020, and while the delay was a bit of a bummer, the opportunity to venture into the Living Lands five days earlier is a sweet consolation.

Avowed means granting a few players early access to the action, while others must wait a bit longer. The upcoming open-world fantasy RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Xbox Game Studios has generated much excitement for quite some time now. Considering the past critically acclaimed titles developed by Obsidian, such as Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds, many have eagerly awaited this game ever since its announcement in July 2020.

Initially planned for release in Fall of this year, the title has been pushed back to February 18, 2025. Despite the delay and some concerns about its frame rate, excitement for Avowed remains undiminished. This is partly because it will be available on Xbox Game Pass on its launch day. For those eagerly waiting for this first-person RPG, the wait won’t be much longer – as long as you’re prepared to pay a bit more upfront.

Gear up for an adventure across the Vital Realms. Secure your pre-orders for the Avowed Premium Edition today and enjoy an early entry of five days!

In addition to the unveiling of early access details, gamers are now able to reserve a copy of “Avowed” on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox app for Windows, Battle.net, or Steam. Notably, this game will also be accessible through Battle.net – a platform operated by Activision and Blizzard – as well as Steam. This dual availability might be due to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision, aiming to cater to regular players of popular games such as “Call of Duty” and “Overwatch”.

To clarify, buying either the Digital Deluxe or Premium Steelbook Edition will grant early access to the game Avowed, as much as five days before its general release. This means you’d be able to explore the Living Lands on February 13, giving you a valuable advantage over others. If you’re an Xbox Game Pass member or have already bought the game, you can upgrade to the Premium Edition for $24.99. The various editions are outlined below:

  • Avowed Digital Standard Edition – $69.99
    • Base Game
  • Avowed Digital Premium Edition – $89.99
    • Base Game
    • Up to five days Early Access
    • Two Premium Skin Packs
    • Access to Digital Artbook & Soundtrack
  • Avowed Premium Edition SteelBook – $94.99
    • Base Game Digital Code
    • Up to five days Early Access
    • Two Premium Skin Packs
    • Access to Digital Artbook & Soundtrack
    • Avowed SteelBook
    • Map of the Living Lands

An interesting aspect of “Avowed” is that although it seems different, it’s actually part of the Pillars of Eternity series because it’s set in the world of Eora. However, its gameplay is more like “Fallout: New Vegas”, rather than games such as “Skyrim”. As an envoy, you’ll explore the Living Lands with companions such as the human Animancer Giatta and the naval aumaua Kai. Your decisions throughout the game will significantly impact the storyline and alter the world around you.

🎮 Exciting news for all gamers! Mark your calendars: I’ll officially be available to play on Xbox Series X|S and Steam as of February 18, 2025. If you can’t wait to get your hands on me, pre-orders are now open on Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app for Windows, Battle.net, or good old Steam. Can’t wait to join your gaming library!
