Avowed player count and sales numbers: How many people are playing?

It’s still early in the year, but Avowed has been one of the biggest releases of 2025.

In their subsequent project after Pillars of Eternity, Obsidian Entertainment embarked on a challenging endeavor, offering expansive territories to traverse, a diverse cast of characters (a few of whom you can develop romantic relationships with), and rich history to delve into.

After being released for more than a week now, how has it been holding up, especially given the strong competition from Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

It’s dropped on Game Pass, which should help player count, but not extra sales.

An easy way to find out is to check Steam, so let’s take a look!

How many people are playing Avowed?

On the 25th of February, 2025, as I’m typing this, approximately 7,729 individuals are found engaged in playing Avowed, as per the Steam community hub’s records.

On the day it released, Avowed had just over 17,000 players.

These figures pale in comparison to those recorded for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 just a few days back, boasting a whopping 170,000 players concurrently engaged in the game.

Admittedly, we don’t have access to the full sales data as some transactions are made through other platforms and Game Pass. However, considering the size of this popular game, one could reasonably anticipate that the sales figures would be significantly greater under normal circumstances.

How much money has Avowed made?

Before the final sales figures are revealed, it’s challenging to forecast exactly how much profit Avowed has earned, given that we remain uninformed about their potential income from Game Pass.

Without any risk, let’s see if we can calculate the revenue… Given that around 17,000 players are playing concurrently, and considering the game’s price tag of £59.99 for the standard edition, it seems reasonable to assume that Avowed has generated at least a million pounds in revenue.

To clarify, it’s important to keep in mind that this information comes from Steam data alone, which may not account for all copies sold or played. Some players might have purchased a physical copy for Xbox, while others could be playing on Game Pass. So, take these statistics with a bit of skepticism as they may not reflect the full picture.
