Bachelor Season 29 Finale: Grant Ellis Finally Chooses His Love

This story contains spoilers from the March 24 episode of The Bachelor.

Grant Ellis is a bachelor no more.

In the season 29 finale of The Bachelor, which aired on March 24, it boiled down to two contestants: Litia Garr and Juliana Pasquarosa. The day trader found himself in a difficult position, struggling to choose who would receive his final rose, as he held strong feelings for both women. At one point, Grant expressed the decision as “impossible.

Speaking with host Jesse Palmer, he shared that he’s clear about his desires but has encountered challenges. He explained that the situation has been fluctuating, making things difficult for him. The struggle is taking a toll on him significantly.

In the course of the show, Grant presented each of the ladies to his family members – Robert, Renee, and Taylor, his sister. They all shared their genuine opinions with him about his predicament. Despite a solo date with both Litia and Juliana, as well as a heart-to-heart talk from his father in the eleventh hour, the 31-year-old found himself torn to pieces, still struggling to choose between the two contenders.

He confided that he had gone to sleep the previous night believing he knew his desires, but upon waking, he acknowledged that he was still uncertain.

In the end, Grant listened to his heart—which led him to Juliana.

In difficult moments of your journey, remember you’re never truly alone, Grant emphasized as he knelt beside you. I pledge to stand by you – as a companion, as a friend, and as a partner.

And the feeling was clearly mutual, as she accepted his proposal.

Juliana expressed, ‘It seems you’ll always pick me, and I eagerly return that choice.’ She was simply overjoyed.

However, whereas Juliana, aged 28, received the ring, Lita, aged 32, departed the island with a heavy heart. Despite Grant’s attempts to part ways cordially, Lita alleged that he had been “deceptive” in the lead-up to the final rose ceremony.

She expressed that she was feeling puzzled, upset, and angry as she left Grant.

In the aftermath of our televised conversation during the “After the Final Rose” segment, I addressed Grant’s shortcomings in honesty regarding his inner turmoil. Following his apology for causing me pain, I courageously proclaimed my personal value and worth.

In my heart, I firmly believe that each woman should awaken to find someone who, without any doubt, has chosen them wholeheartedly, just as I do for myself.

As I approach the grand finale, I must confess that shattering someone’s dreams to uncover my own happiness wasn’t a simple task. It was a hard choice to make.

He shared with TopMob News that he’s guided by his emotions, so it’s no surprise that he found himself with feelings he didn’t want to disappoint others. It’s tough for him, but he’s making an effort to find his partner and had to make a difficult decision.

However, he was quick to emphasize that the process was worth it in the end.

“I’m very happy with what I did,” he said, “and if I could do it again, I would do the same thing.”

After Grant and Juliana announce their engagement, continue scrolling to discover the current status of other Bachelor Nation couples.

Status: Engaged
After making a debut on the inaugural season of “The Golden Bachelor” and leaving Gerry Turner’s season prematurely, Joan Vassos took over as the rose distributor during the premiere of “The Golden Bachelorette”. It was in this setting that she encountered and accepted the proposal from contestant Chock Chapple.

In the finale of “The Golden Bachelorette” in November 2024, Joan shared her heartfelt sentiment: “Life may throw unexpected challenges at us, but there’s always hope, even at our age.” She then found herself in a breathtaking location in Bora Bora where Chock declared his love for her. “I’ve waited for this special moment in this incredible setting to express my feelings,” he said. “I love you, and I want to dedicate the rest of my life to you. I long to wake up beside you each morning and share a goodnight kiss with you every evening.

In the finale of season 21 of “The Bachelorette”, it seemed like former contestant Jenn Tran, aged 26, was on the brink of a joyful conclusion with her final choice, Devin Strader. However, Jenn disclosed during “After the Final Rose” in September that Devin, aged 28, suddenly distanced himself from her once the cameras were turned off.

During the September 3rd show, Jenn conveyed to host Jesse Palmer that the man she was involved with had been expressing grand expressions of affection one day and then, without warning the next day, appeared indifferent and denied ever having loved her. She explained that all the assurances he had given her, along with his expressed desire to shower her with love, seemed to have vanished.

The events became more intriguing as Devin uploaded a 13-minute video on Instagram, detailing his perspective and accepting responsibility, while also explaining the reasons behind ending the relationship during a 15-minute phone conversation.

During their phone conversation in August, Jenn asserted that he ended their relationship. However, he contended that Jenn had asked him about his issues and was trying to figure out how to tell her in person.

He admitted that he wasn’t sure about what other options were left, and added that he had been holding off telling her face-to-face. Essentially, she made it necessary for him to reveal the information.

After that, Jenn gracefully moved towards the stage of “Dancing With the Stars,” and speculations about her relationship with Sasha Farber persist, as they’ve been fueling romance rumors ever since their elimination on October 29th.

Status: Split

In November 2022, Greg Grippo – one of Katie Thurston’s suitors from The Bachelorette the previous year – appeared on the season finale of Bachelor in Paradise alongside Victoria Fuller. During their time together, they declared that they were in a relationship. However, in April 2024, he disclosed that they had ended their relationship.

Prior to Victoria Fuller and Greg Grippo making their relationship official during the finale of Bachelor in Paradise’s eighth season, Victoria Fuller had previously called off her engagement with John DePhillipo.

Status: Divorced

In the heartwarming month of November, 2023, I had the immense joy to accept Theresa Nist’s proposal during the spectacular finale of the debut season of “Golden Bachelor.” Our love story continued with a breathtaking televised wedding in January, 2024.

However, three months after their nuptials, the couple announced that they were breaking up.

During their interview on Good Morning America with Theresa in April 2024, Gerry explained, “Theresa and I have had many personal talks and examined our circumstances, including our living arrangements. As a result, we both agree that it’s likely the right moment for us to end our marriage.

They reached a divorce settlement in June 2024, according to court records reviewed by TopMob News.

Status: Getting Married
After considering 32 possible partners, tennis player Joey Graziadei finally found his ideal partner in project manager Kelsey Anderson. “I can’t wait any longer to tell you that I love you,” Joey expressed to the recipient of his final rose, during the finale of March 2024. “There is something about you. You have this contagious energy that makes me happy. It’s a feeling I’ve never experienced before.”
Pictureing a lifetime with the woman from Louisiana, he added, “I’ve always known I wanted a lovely life, but I didn’t truly understand how wonderful that life could be until I met you.

Despite not initially connecting until halfway through season nine of “Bachelor in Paradise”, underwater welder John Henry Spurlock and nurse Kat Izzo were ready to take a leap. “I’m going to attempt something unique,” he stated, presenting an Ascher cut Neil Lane diamond. “Today, I am following my heart. My heart tells me you are extraordinary, you are everything I have been searching for.”

However, a few days after the season finale, the couple disclosed that their futures were not intertwined. “Although our paths are diverging due to conflicting career objectives,” they shared in a joint Instagram post, “we are thankful for the love and encouragement we’ve received from our families, friends, and Bachelor Nation.

As a lifestyle expert, I find myself reflecting on Eliza Isichei’s recent life events. Despite the butterflies swarming in her stomach over Aaron Bryant’s oceanfront proposal during Paradise, she gracefully accepted, touched by his thoughtful gesture of seeking her mom’s blessing before popping the question. In a heartfelt moment, she admitted, “I found myself at a loss for words, realizing I was not in control of my responses.”

However, it seems that not everything went as smoothly as planned for Eliza and Aaron. The finale’s closing remarks hinted at some obstacles they encountered following their return from Mexico. A few days later, they officially announced their amicable split, choosing to part ways with nothing but positivity and mutual respect for each other.

Navigating through these tricky emotions as I watch the events unfold, Eliza shared her feelings on Instagram, stating, “Dec 2023 has been a whirlwind of emotions. We’re leading our split with nothing but positivity and mutual respect.

Status: Separated

Nurse Kylee Russell found herself disappointed by boyfriend Aven Jones’ reluctance to propose – something he reportedly planned during his time on ‘The Bachelorette’ with Rachel Recchia. However, she eventually agreed to Aven’s proposal from ‘Bachelor in Paradise’, choosing to leave things behind and make the relationship work.

Despite this, her intended wedding dress remained untouched as she decided to follow her heart. “I had to do what felt right,” she said. “Love involves taking risks.”

Just two days after their finale aired in December 2023, she revealed on Instagram Stories that their relationship had ended due to several instances of infidelity. Later, Aven issued an apology to Kylee, admitting, “I have made serious mistakes in our relationship and caused pain to someone I cared about deeply.

Status: Engaged

Charity Lawson playfully told TopMob News, “I’m thrilled with how this season unfolded!” However, her August 2023 finale was more than she hinted at. Integrative medicine specialist Dotun Olubeko dropped to one knee and declared their love as “flawless,” asking the child and family therapist, “Will you agree to transform this fairy tale into a reality?”

Although their ‘happily ever after’ is yet to come—they mentioned considering a 2025 or 2026 wedding—first, Charity will twirl through the Dancing With the Stars dance floor. “Okay, love,” Dotun told Charity on The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose. “You know you enjoy joking around, dancing, and having fun. We’ve discussed this—about what a fantastic opportunity it would be. And I am overjoyed to share that you will be on Dancing With the Stars! Let’s do this!

Status: Engaged

Zach will have his fairytale ending. Although there were a few hiccups during the Fantasy Suite, Zach Shallcross concluded season 27 in March 2023 on bended knee. He expressed to travel nurse Kaity Biggar, “I am so in love with you. You are my world. The love I feel for you is something I could have never imagined.”

In July 2023, the pair from Texas made a significant move forward in their relationship, as Kaity posted on Instagram, “Now officially living together.” They’re currently working on setting their wedding date for October 2025.

Their relationship status: They are no longer together. Despite a promising start on Bachelor Nation, Danielle Maltby and Michael Allio, who both experienced personal losses prior to their association, seemed destined for a successful partnership. However, after Danielle moved from Nashville to Ohio to be with Michael, they announced their separation. Michael shared his feelings on the Jason Tartick’s Trading Secrets podcast in September 2023, stating, “We both invested a lot into this relationship and it’s heartbreaking when it doesn’t work out. When relationships don’t succeed, when you realize that love is present but compatibility is lacking, you grieve not only the loss of that person and friend in your life, but also the future you once imagined together.

Brandon Jones expressed his heartfelt intentions towards Serene Russell during season seven of ‘Paradise’, declaring his love would last for eternity. However, their story took an unexpected turn. Five months after their engagement aired, Brandon (a finalist from Michelle Young’s season) and Serene (who had interactions with Clayton Echard) announced their separation in a joint statement on Instagram in May 2023. They acknowledged the difficulties of maintaining their relationship under public scrutiny, stating ‘We have tried to work privately on our relationship, which has been incredibly challenging in the public eye.’ They expressed deep sorrow and asked for understanding, as there is still much love between them despite their separation.

The relationship between pilot Rachel and general contractor Tino Franco encountered a halt due to an incident where he kissed another woman during their 2022 season broadcast. In his own words on “The Viall Files”, Tino admitted, “I in no way stand by my actions. It was not right, unfair to Rachel, and it continues to haunt me daily. I feel ashamed and if I could do it differently a million times over, I would.

The situation: Split

Well, it was quite an experience indeed. Susie Evans, during the 2022 finale, turned down Bachelor Clayton Echard‘s advances, but later reconnected with him off-camera…only to part ways again six months later.

However, Susie, a videographer based in L.A., explains their separation had valid reasons. “The people close to me observed that my spirit had dimmed and I was far from flourishing,” she penned down in a November 2022 blog post titled “Susie Was Like.” She admitted they “experienced many joyful moments, but beneath the surface, I was wrestling with inner turmoil and feeling out of sync with the best version of myself.

Back in 2024, I, a dedicated Bachelor Nation enthusiast, was absolutely thrilled when I heard that Susie had entered into a relationship with Justin Glaze. However, my heart sank when they shared the news of their split in August of that same year.

Current State: Broken Up

Teacher Michelle from Minnesota received a Neil Lane sparkler from Texas-based sales executive Nayte Olukoya, along with a $200,000 check for their future home. However, the relationship didn’t work out as planned, and they announced their separation six months after their season finale aired in December 2021.

On The Viall Files, Nayte admitted that there were many ups and downs, numerous arguments, and fights, with him and Michelle not seeing eye-to-eye often. He also acknowledged that not having the final split conversation in person was “immature.”

Later on, Michelle began dating Jack Leius in 2023, and they announced their engagement the following year.

The duo from BIP season 7, Maurissa Gunn and Riley Christian, shared a plan for a future filled with peaceful Sunday mornings that resonated strongly with viewers. However, they were only able to spend a few weeks together before parting ways. In a joint statement released in January 2022, their coordinator Maurissa (who had a romantic relationship with Peter Weber) and attorney Riley (one of Tayshia Adams’ suitors) announced their decision to go separate ways. They never anticipated this, but they have come to a point where they both need to focus on personal growth.

Status: Split

The initial same-sex pair from ‘Bachelor Nation’ got engaged during the sixth season of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’, however, they announced their separation in October 2019, which coincided with Halloween.

In their shared announcement on Instagram, they expressed that throughout their relationship, love and concern for each other have been paramount. Their primary focus has always been making decisions that benefit them as a couple. After much contemplation filled with mutual affection, they’ve made the difficult decision to take a step back from their relationship. Essentially, they seek what is best for them in the long term, and at this moment, that means growing separately.

Current Status: Engaged
Their Paradise was not lost after all. Despite parting ways during the seventh season of BIP, Noah Erb and Abigail Heringer found an eternal connection in each other’s gaze. They initially settled in San Diego, but lately, they have purchased a property in Tulsa, his hometown. In July 2023, Abigail expressed on Instagram, “Preparing to enter our Chip and Joanna Gaines era as I just bought my first house!!!” She was thrilled about starting their new chapter and the memories they would create there. Before relocating, Noah proposed at a San Diego beachfront home in August 2023, hinting at upcoming wedding plans.

Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile, both reality TV stars, decided to go ahead and legally tie the knot in New York City about a year after leaving Bachelor in Paradise. They chose to do this as a kind of trial run before their official wedding in September 2023. Serena, who now co-hosts the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast with her husband, shared a video from the occasion and captioned it “JUST MARRIED!!”, adding that they are still planning for a second wedding ceremony next September.

Kenny Braasch, well-known boy band manager, expressed his deep affection for Mari Pepin by saying, “Mari, I am absolutely head over heels in love with you,” as he placed a beautiful Neil Lane diamond ring on her finger during the 2021 finale of Paradise. “I honestly can’t imagine my life without you,” he added. Following their elimination by Tayshia Adams in week five, Mari Pepin, originally from Maryland and who had initially captivated Bachelor Matt, moved to Kenny’s hometown, Chicago. Prior to their lavish oceanfront wedding in Puerto Rico in November 2023 with 65 guests, they made their love official by getting matching tattoos during a trip to the Bahamas in May 2023.

Status: Married

Previously on Bachelor in Paradise season seven, Becca Kufrin and Thomas Jacobs, one of Katie Thurston’s suitors, found love together in 2021. However, their relationship ended during the show, but they rekindled it after filming concluded. In May 2022, they announced their engagement, with Becca taking the initiative to propose. As she expressed to TopMob News, “I hope that others can now feel empowered and understand that it’s okay to break traditional rules.” Thomas reciprocated her sentiment later in October. In September 2023, they welcomed their first child, a son named Benson. Becca posted on Instagram, “Words can’t express the love and awe we have for this little guy.”

Just weeks after welcoming Benson, the couple decided to tie the knot in an impromptu ceremony held on October 13, 2023.

Status: Split

During the final episode of season 17 of ‘The Bachelorette’ in 2021, Katie got engaged to Blake Moynes. Their love for each other was first expressed during their nighttime date that included a paintball adventure, a cowboy tub, and a heart-to-heart under the starlit sky.

Bending down on a knee, Blake expressed to Katie, “You’re worthy of the whole universe, and I’m thrilled to stand by your side and be with you each day from hereon.

Three months following the broadcast of their proposal, the pair publicly declared their separation. In identical statements, they expressed appreciation for the precious moments they experienced and the journey that unfolded throughout the year. However, they acknowledged that as partners for life, they were not a suitable match and it was the kindest decision for both parties to progress separately.

Now, she is betrothed to comedian Jeff Arcuri.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to address the ongoing speculation about Matt and graphic designer Rachael Kirkconnell’s relationship status after their time on “The Bachelor” in 2021. Although they have faced numerous breakup rumors over the years, it seems that social media scrutiny has often misconstrued their actions as signs of a falling out.

In a candid conversation with TopMob News at a Baskin-Robbins event last July, Matt shared his thoughts on the importance of disconnecting from our digital lives: “I believe everyone should take a break from social media sometimes. Our lives are too heavily dependent on our phones, so when someone steps away from being online 24/7, people jump to conclusions that it’s the end of the world.”

Despite the rumors, Matt maintained that marriage remains the ultimate goal for him and Rachael. In an interview with TopMob News in May 2022, he expressed their commitment to taking their relationship at a steady pace: “I think the strength of our relationship lies in our ability to move at our own pace. Many other couples rush into engagements only to find themselves parting ways later on. I believe we’ve found a formula that works for us, and we’ll eventually get there.”

However, in January 2025, Matt announced their decision to end the relationship. In a heartfelt message on Instagram, he asked for strength and understanding from fans: “Father God, give Rachael and I the strength to heal our broken hearts. May we find peace in this decision that surpasses worldly comprehension. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord.

Following her replacement for Clare Crawley‘s 2020 stint on The Bachelorette, Tayshia encountered and developed feelings for Zac Clark. Despite departing her season with an engagement, the ex-Bachelorette turned co-host subsequently disclosed that their relationship had its share of highs and lows.

In a new relationship, it’s challenging when you need to be absent for a couple of weeks. To put it frankly, that’s my experience speaking on the The Ben and Ashley I. Almost Famous podcast in August 2021.

Later on, she expressed, “It felt as though we had to recall the reasons for being together. And I believe such a reflection is completely typical.” However, in November 2021, TopMob News reported that they had parted ways.

Status: Split

During season 16 of “The Bachelorette”, Clare developed a deep and intense affection for Dale Moss. So much so, that by the fourth episode, they got engaged. However, the surprises didn’t end there. After Clare was replaced by Tayshia, Dale announced on social media that his relationship with the hairdresser had ended just weeks later.

Approximately a month after their initial separation, rumors of reconciliation swirled around them as they were seen together again. Fast forwarding to July 2021, following multiple meetings, Clare and Dale had fully rekindled their relationship – complete with a ring. However, in September of the same year, they decided to separate once more. Now, Clare is blissfully married to Ryan Dawkins and they are expecting their first child together.

Status: Split

Following a short engagement with Hannah Ann Sluss and later a breakup from Madison Prewett, fans were optimistic that things would work out for Peter in his third attempt at romance. Unfortunately, the relationship between Peter and Kelley Flanagan, who was a notable contestant on The Bachelor season 24, did not last, as he announced on New Year’s Eve 2020 that their nine-month relationship had ended.

Pete shared on Instagram that, although our partnership held many cherished moments, it ultimately didn’t succeed as planned. He mentioned that Kelley remains someone he holds a unique affection towards.

In 2022, they made another attempt at flying again, but later in May, they disclosed that their relationship had come to an end after reaching its ultimate point.

Status: Split

After the intense 2020 finale, the pair shared on Instagram that they wouldn’t be continuing their romantic involvement anymore. Peter expressed, “Madi and I have jointly decided not to advance our relationship any further.” Although it wasn’t easy for either of us to accept, following extensive heart-to-heart talks, we’ve agreed that this is the most suitable path for both of us. The affection and regard I hold for Madi will persist.

In her declaration, Madi expressed, “I’ll always hold affection and regard for him. I firmly believe that our lives were destined to intersect, making us both improved individuals as a result.

Status: Split

As a devoted fan recalling season 24 of “The Bachelor,” I found myself rooting for Peter and Hannah Ann. However, during the second part of the finale, it became clear that their engagement had hit some rough patches just a month into their exclusive relationship. More specifically, Hannah Ann was taken aback by Peter’s lingering feelings for Madison, leaving her blindsided in the process.

She stated, “All I’ve wanted is for someone to wholeheartedly reciprocate my feelings as I am doing for them. And you ended our first engagement,” she lamented, returning the ring. “You took that away from me. That’s what you have asked me to do – trust and be patient with you, have faith in me.

Current Status: Married
After their #vanlife days, Dean Unglert (a finalist on Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay’s season) and Caelynn Miller-Keyes, who had a romantic connection with Colton Underwood during Paradise, parted ways in 2019. However, since then, they have been inseparable.
Fast forward to 2022, the beauty queen got engaged to her cohost on the podcast “Help! We Suck at Being Newlyweds” at a camp-themed wedding in the Colorado mountains on September 23rd. Before exchanging vows, Caelynn shared with TopMob News her excitement about marrying someone as wonderful as him, who always manages to make her laugh even on tough days. She expressed her belief that their married life would be full of fun and joy.
