10 years on, Kaitlyn Bristowe reflects back on the intense emotional and physical strain that came with being The Bachelorette.

39-year-old opens up about lingering effects of work-related stress from ABC dating show’s 11th season (aired in 2015), detailing its impact on her health long after production wrapped up.

On her podcast Off the Vine on May 9th, Kaitlyn mentioned that for several months after a show she didn’t have a period and experienced significant hair loss, which included large bald patches, not just single hairs but actual chunks of hair due to stress.

Her lack of adequate sleep during the show’s filming was not beneficial, as she herself confessed to usually only getting a maximum of four hours each night.

Speaking about her previous struggles with stress-related hair loss, Kaitlyn opened up about the challenges she encounters while being the leading star on ‘The Bachelorette’.

In my experience, I’ve found that there’s always someone who may feel let down or displeased, whether it’s an audience member, a colleague, a superior, or even a loved one. It seems inevitable that we’ll be falling short of expectations at some point or another.

Regardless of the challenges that arose following her participation in The Bachelorette, the reality television personality found instances where she felt a sense of accomplishment. This was particularly true when she concluded the show engaged to Shawn Booth, a relationship that ended in 2018.

She mentioned that there have been instances when she felt particularly proud of her ability to express herself at the age of 29. She was also proud of herself for feeling deeply remorseful about causing harm to others.

Initially, Kaitlyn admitted that when she started filming the series, her greatest concern was that she might not find love during the show. She recalled thinking, “Oh my goodness, that was my main worry going in. ‘What if I put all this effort into it and don’t end up finding someone?'” This was before she became engaged to Jason Tartick and was rumored to be with Zac Clark.

Regarding how she reflects on that period, Kaitlyn offered her younger self some guidance by saying, “I would simply advise you: ‘Remember, the producers are doing their job. You also have responsibilities, but hold onto your beliefs a bit stronger. And try not to drink as much.’

In July 2023, the Texas couple took their relationship to a new level, announcing on Instagram that they were now living together as roommates. They’re currently working on setting their wedding date for October 2025.

In simpler terms, even though Danielle Maltby and Michael Allio, who were both on different seasons of Bachelor Nation, appeared to be headed for a romantic partnership after their relationship began off-screen, they have since parted ways. Initially setting up shop in San Diego, the travel nurse (remember her from Tayshia’s season?) and the financial manager (he was the lucky one who received Matt James’ first impression rose) have now taken their relationship to a whole new level by purchasing a home in his hometown of Tulsa.
