As a seasoned observer of the Bachelor Nation saga, I must admit that I find it fascinating to see these former contestants navigate their real-life relationships beyond the glamour and drama of the show.
Jenn Tran and Jonathon Johnson may not have reached the end of their journey after all.
Following the sensational split between the ‘Bachelorette’ star and her former fiancé Devin Straley, it seems she has rekindled a relationship with another contestant, Jonathon. Today, she is speaking openly about their current status.
Jenn shared a heartwarming comment during the September 10th episode of Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off the Vine podcast, laughing as she said, “The Internet seems to adore Jenn and Jonathan.” However, in all seriousness, she expressed that she wouldn’t have made a different choice if given the chance. She believes everything unfolded as it should, and she carries immense love and gratitude for the men on her season.
Regarding how she handles socializing with former co-stars from the show, Jenn finds it perfectly fine to keep those friendships intact.
I’m planning to have a beer with Jonathan, either Jeremy or Simon, whichever one it is. I really want to maintain these friendships, but they’re just friends, not anything more.
In my own words, I shared that the fact we’d be far apart played a significant role in my decision to end our relationship with Jonathan.
She clarified, “There simply wasn’t enough of it. It seemed uncertain whether he’d feel comfortable with a long-distance relationship.” She added, “I live in Miami, I can’t move, and neither can he. We weren’t sure if his heart was into it or mine was, given the distance.
During an interview on The Viall Files podcast on September 10th, Jonathon openly discussed his unsuccessful romance, explaining, “I truly believe that the connection simply wasn’t present.
Regarding the possibility of having a future with Jenn, whom he has collaborated on multiple videos, he remained evasive about his intentions.
Jonathon mentioned that no such discussion about anything romantic between him and Jenn has taken place yet,” he explained, implying that their living arrangements make it unlikely at the moment since she’ll be in Los Angeles for several months while he resides here.
Speculation grew about a possible rekindled relationship between them following Jonathan’s praise of Jennifer on Instagram on September 5th. He mentioned his excitement to spend time with Jennifer during her stay in Los Angeles, while she competed on ‘Dancing With the Stars’.
Host Nick Viall suggested to Jonathan and Jenn that if they weren’t planning on dating, they should end their online flirting soon.
“What if we don’t know, though?” Jonathon noted. “Open minded is probably where I stand.”
Regarding his feelings following the end of the show, Jonathan expressed, “It seems people had fallen for the concept of me more than the actual me. Therefore, being ousted in third place while others could recognize my true feelings but the person I cared about couldn’t, was a difficult reality to accept.
Even though Jonathan is looking forward to appearing on Bachelor in Paradise following his invitation, he’s not closing the door to love before the show airs. In fact, there’s one specific quality he values highly when considering a potential partner in the future.
He stated, ‘They trust both themselves and me strongly, so they’re not hesitant or anxious about our relationship.’ He further added, ‘Even with my busy schedule and numerous responsibilities, I will always remain a constant presence in their life.’
To see where the Bachelor Nation couples stand today, read on.
Status: Split
In November 2022, Greg Grippo, a former suitor of Katie Thurston on The Bachelorette the previous year, appeared alongside Victoria Fuller during the season eight finale of Bachelor in Paradise. During their time there, they publicly acknowledged their romantic relationship. However, by April 2024, he disclosed that their relationship had ended.
Previously, Victoria Fuller and Johnny DePhillipo were engaged, but before they could confirm their relationship publicly on the finale of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’s eighth season, their romance had already split apart.
Status: Divorced
Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist got engaged during the final episode of the first season of “Golden Bachelor” in November 2023, and they officially married in a live television wedding ceremony in January 2024.
However, three months after their nuptials, the couple announced that they were breaking up.
During their interview on Good Morning America with Theresa in April 2024, Gerry stated, “Through many open and honest discussions with Theresa, we’ve carefully evaluated our circumstances, particularly our living arrangement and other aspects. We’ve reached a shared understanding that it might be best for us to end our marriage.
They reached a divorce settlement in June 2024, according to court records reviewed by TopMob News.
Status: In a Relationship
Status: Split
Though underwater welder John Henry Spurlock (one of Charity Lawson‘s suitors) and nurse Kat Izzo (she competed for Zach Shallcross‘ heart) didn’t connect until midway through season nine of Bachelor in Paradise, they were willing to dive into the deep end. “I’m going to try something a little different,” he said while offering up an Ascher cut Neil Lane diamond. “I’m following my heart today. My heart’s telling me that you are amazing, you are everything that I’m looking for.”
But days after the finale aired, the duo revealed they no longer saw forever in each other’s eyes. “While our paths are taking different directions due to our career goals not aligning,” they wrote in a joint Instagram post, “we are grateful for the love and support we’ve received from our family, friends, and Bachelor Nation.”
Status: Split
Despite her nerves about a Paradise engagement, an all-dressed-in-white Eliza Isichei (one of Clayton Echard‘s exes) happily accepted Aaron Bryant‘s oceanfront proposal. Touched by the software salesman’s decision to reach out to her mom for her blessing, she gushed, “I knew I was not in control of what was going to come out of my mouth.”
The finale’s coda acknowledged Charity’s ex and marketing manager Eliza had hit some bumps after returning from Mexico, and days later they announced they had officially ended their engagement.
“Tricky emotions watching it all unfold,” he wrote on Instagram December 2023. “We’re leading our amicable split with nothing but positivity and mutual respect for one another.”
Status: Split
Though postpartum nurse Kylee Russell lamented boyfriend Aven Jones‘ unwillingness to get down on bended knee—a move he was purportedly prepared to make while romancing Bachelorette Rachel Recchia—she ultimately accepted Aven’s Paradise proposal to “get out of here and make it work.”
Though that meant her planned engagement gown remained packed, “I just had to do what I felt was right,” she said. “Love is all about taking risk.”
Two days after their December 2023 finale aired, she announced on her Instagram Stories that their relationship had “dissolved due to multiple infidelities.” Aven later issued an apology to Kylee, writing, “I have made major mistakes in the relationship and hurt someone who was very close to me.”
In a playful exchange with TopMob News, Charity Lawson expressed her satisfaction with how this season unfolded, a statement that fell short of the grandeur of her upcoming August 2023 finale. Dotun Olubeko, an integrative medicine specialist, then took to his knee, declaring their love as “perfect,” and posing the question to the child and family therapist: “Would you grant me the privilege of transforming this fairy tale into a reality?
Status: Engaged
Zach shall get his happy ending. Despite more than a few Fantasy Suite-related stumbles, Zach Shallcross ended season 27 in March 2023 down on one knee. “I am so in love with you,” he told travel nurse Kaity Biggar. “You are my world. The love I feel for you is something I could have never imagined.”
In July 2023, the Texas-based duo made an even bigger step in their journey, with Kaity sharing on Instagram, “Officially roommates.”
The current status: Split
Brandon Jones declared his eternal affection for Serene Russell during their appearance on season seven of Paradise. However, their union didn’t last long. Just five months after their engagement aired, they announced their separation in a joint Instagram post dated May 2023. They had struggled to maintain their relationship privately amidst public scrutiny, admitting it was difficult and painful. They requested understanding and asked for no hostility as there is still love between them.
Status: Separated
Status: Split
Well, it was certainly a journey. Susie Evans initially rejected Bachelor Clayton Echard‘s overtures during the 2022 finale only to reunite with him off-camera…and then split once again six months later.
But the L.A.-based videographer insists their breakup was for the right reasons. “The people around me could see that my sparkle had dulled and I was far from thriving,” she wrote in a November 2022 post for her blog “Susie Was Like.” She acknowledged they “had joyous moments often, but deep down I was struggling and felt misaligned with the best version of me.”
After dating Justin Glaze, a contestant from Bachelor Nation, Susie later confirmed that their relationship had ended in August 2024 as well.
As a lifestyle guide, I’d rephrase the statement as follows:
Status: Parted ways
Status: Split
The first same-sex couple from the Bachelor Nation became engaged during season six of “Bachelor in Paradise,” but they revealed their separation on Halloween in the year 2019.
In their shared announcement on Instagram, they expressed that love and concern for each other has consistently guided their relationship. Their main focus has always been ensuring their collective well-being. With hearts heavy yet filled with mutual affection, they have chosen to take a step back from their relationship. Essentially, what they desire most in the future is to thrive independently, which currently necessitates some distance.
Current Status: Engaged
In preparation for their upcoming wedding in September 2023, Serena Pitt (a finalist on Matt James’ season) and Joe Amabile (the Chicago grocery store owner who gained popularity after being sent home by Becca Kufrin during the first night of 2018), decided to have a trial run. They chose to exchange vows at City Hall near their New York City residence, approximately one year after leaving Bachelor in Paradise as an engaged couple. Serena, who now co-hosts the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast with her spouse, excitedly announced their marriage on an October 2022 video. “JUST MARRIED!!”, she captioned it. “We’re still having a wedding in September, but who wouldn’t want to get married twice?
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it as follows:
Status: Married
Becca Kufrin, who was once the Bachelorette, and Thomas Jacobs, one of Katie Thurston’s suitors, started dating during the seventh season of “Bachelor in Paradise” in 2021. They broke up on the show but reunited afterwards. In May 2022, they announced their engagement with Becca proposing. She shared that she hopes others will feel empowered to break the rules if needed. Later in October 2022, Thomas reciprocated her gesture. In September 2023, they welcomed their first child, a son named Benson. On Instagram, Becca expressed her overwhelming love and admiration for this little boy. Just weeks after bringing home Benson, the couple decided to get married in an impromptu ceremony on October 13th.
Status: Split
In the final episode of season 17 of “The Bachelorette” in 2021, Katie got engaged to Blake Moynes. Their romantic moment occurred during their overnight date, which featured a paintball adventure, a relaxing cowboy soak, and a heartfelt conversation under the night sky, where they expressed their love for each other.
Kneeling down, Blake conveyed to Katie, “You are worthy of the whole world, and I am thrilled to stand by your side and offer my support daily from now on.
Approximately three months following the broadcast of their proposal, the pair announced their separation. In synchronised statements they expressed, “We are incredibly thankful for the precious moments we experienced together and the entire journey that has unfolded this year. However, after much contemplation, we have come to the realization that we are not ideally suited as life partners. It is with great care that we choose to move forward separately.
Current Status: In a Relationship
Since Matt and graphic designer Rachael Kirkconnell parted ways during his 2021 season (followed by a brief separation and subsequent reconciliation), they have faced numerous breakup speculations. However, to clarify, they are still very much smitten with each other.
“I believe everyone needs a break from social media,” he shared exclusively with TopMob News at a July 18 Baskin-Robbins event. “Our lives are so intertwined with our phones that when someone takes a break from being online 24/7, people think it’s the end of the world.”
Marriage is the ultimate goal for this L.A.-based couple. As the author of First Impressions: Off Screen Conversations With a Bachelor on Race, Family, and Forgiveness expressed in 2022, “The good thing about our relationship is we move at our own pace.” He added, “And you’ve seen with other couples—they rush the engagement and they’re not together anymore. So, I think what we have is a successful formula, and we’ll get there.
Status: Split
Following her entry to replace Clare Crawley in the 2020 series of ‘The Bachelorette’, Tayshia developed feelings for Zac Clark. Despite leaving the show engaged, Tayshia shared afterwards that their relationship experienced highs and lows.
Speaking candidly on the “The Ben and Ashley I. Almost Famous” podcast in August 2021, she expressed that it can be challenging to maintain a new relationship while taking a short break for a couple of weeks.
Later on, she stated, “It felt as if we needed to recall the reasons for being together, and that’s perfectly okay.” However, in November 2021, TopMob News reported that they had parted ways.
Status: Split
During season 16 of The Bachelorette, I found myself smitten beyond belief by Dale Moss. By the fourth episode, we were even engaged! However, the unexpected events didn’t cease as weeks later, when Tayshia stepped into my shoes and secured an engagement of her own, Dale publicly announced on social media that our love story had run its course with the hairdresser.
In a turn of events a month later, speculations about reconciliation swirled when I crossed paths with them once more. Fast-forwarding to July 2021, following numerous meetups, Clare and Dale had rekindled their relationship—complete with a ring. However, come September, they decided to part ways again. Today, Clare is blissfully hitched to Ryan Dawkins and we’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of our first daughter together.
Status: Split
Following a short engagement with winner Hannah Ann Sluss and later separation from runner-up Madison Prewett, fans held high hopes for Peter having better luck in love. Sadly, his bond with Bachelor season 24’s Kelley Flanagan didn’t last either; the pilot announced on New Year’s Eve 2020 that their nine-month relationship had ended.
Pete shared on Instagram, “Though our journey together was filled with many cherished moments, our connection ultimately didn’t last, but Kelly remains someone I hold a deep affection for.
In the year 2022, I found myself attempting another flight, so to speak, in my personal life journey. However, as I shared with the world back in May, it became evident that the beautiful voyage of our romantic relationship had come to an end.
Status: Split
After the intense 2020 conclusion, the pair revealed on Instagram that they wouldn’t continue their romantic involvement. Peter expressed, “Madi and I have jointly decided not to advance our relationship any further. It wasn’t easy for either of us, but after many open discussions, we agreed this was the best choice for both of us. The affection and regard I have for Madi will persist.
In her statement, Madi mentioned, “I’ll always hold affection and regard for him. I firmly believe that our lives were destined to intersect, and we have both benefited from this encounter.
Status: Split
In the 24th season of ‘The Bachelor’, Peter and Hannah Ann had a short-lived engagement. Regrettably, by the second part of the finale, it became clear that they were facing difficulties just a month into their private relationship. More precisely, Hannah Ann was taken aback when she learned about Peter’s ongoing feelings for Madison during this period.
She said, “All I’ve longed for is a complete commitment from someone similar to the one I offer them. And yet, you ended my first engagement.” She conveyed her feelings before returning the ring. “You took that away from me. This is what I put my trust in you for. ‘Please be patient with me. Keep faith in me.’
Currently, they are married. After their days of van life, Dean Unglert (a finalist on Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay’s season) and Caelynn Miller-Keyes (who had a romance with Colton Underwood during Paradise season 6 in 2019), have been traveling together since their split. They got engaged in 2022 and tied the knot at a camp-themed wedding in the Colorado mountains on September 23. Caelynn shared her excitement, telling TopMob News before the ceremony, “I just love him so much… I’m excited to be marrying someone who’s such a good person, who makes me laugh every single day even when I’m upset. Our life together is going to be really fun.
Dylan Barbour and Hannah Godwin, who found love during season six of Bachelor in Paradise, exchanged vows in a fairytale-like wedding in France. As Hannah shared with TopMob News exclusively, “Our wedding was magical. I married my best friend surrounded by our closest family and friends, and it meant everything to us. It was a dream come true.” Mainly, the content creator (who previously had feelings for Bachelor Colton Underwood) is thrilled to now call the tech entrepreneur (from Hannah Brown’s season) her husband. She expressed, “We’re committed to making this relationship last, and our families are closely involved. It seems like we already have a marriage-like bond, although we still look forward to creating new memories and officially sealing our union.
Status: Split
After numerous rumors, Bachelor in Paradise couple Chris Bukowski (who started his lengthy flirtation on Emily Maynard’s season) and Katie Morton (who dated Colton) publicly declared their split in a joint statement in 2019. They posted on their Instagram accounts that December: “We have arrived at a stage in our journey where we believe it’s best for us to part ways. We have decided to cherish and honor each other as friends because that’s the foundation of our relationship, and it feels most genuine to us.
