As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I must admit that the latest update for Balatro, dubbed Friends of Jimbo, has truly caught my eye (and cards). Currently, LocalThunk’s game Balatro is scheduled to receive a significant gameplay overhaul next year. However, it recently released a substantial update during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, which took place not long ago. This new update, titled Friends of Jimbo, is available across all platforms right now. It features collaborations with various titles such as Dave the Diver, Vampire Survivors, Among Us, and unexpectedly, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. As an avid fan, I’m thrilled about this update! Now, instead of the traditional card skins, we can customize them with characters from beloved titles. For instance, you can swap out the Kings, Queens, and Jacks for Geralt, Yennefer, Dracula, a Crewmate, or even Dave! It appears these collaborations don’t bring major game-altering mechanics, but they certainly add a dash of coolness to our gaming experience.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that “Balatro” can be played on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, both current and next-gen Xbox models, as well as PS4 and PS5. With over two million units sold by August, it’s clear that this rogue-like title is making waves!
