Batman Gets 85th-Anniversary Popcorn Bucket at AMC

As a seasoned gamer and DC comics enthusiast, I can’t help but feel my heart racing with anticipation as I witness the grand celebration of Batman’s 85th anniversary. The Bat-Signal popcorn bucket at AMC is just the cherry on top of this extraordinary occasion!

2021 marks the 85th anniversary of Batman, and DC is making a grand celebration of the Dark Knight! The festivities align with the return of “The Batman” to cinemas on August 28th. In line with this, AMC is unveiling a working Bat-Signal popcorn bucket. You can view it in action in the video below. Priced at $34.99, the bucket will be sold separately. Additionally, a cup showcasing designs of the Batmobile throughout the years will be available for $11.99, and fans can purchase both the popcorn bucket and the cup together for $44.99.

On the same date, AMC theaters are hosting a special one-time screening of The Batman, which coincides with the release of a popcorn bucket. This event takes place on the 28th and includes a sneak peek of The Penguin, set to premiere on HBO on September 19th. AMC made the announcement about re-releasing The Batman earlier this month. According to series showrunner Lauren LeFranc, The Penguin serves as a link between The Batman and The Batman Part II, which is scheduled to hit theaters on October 2, 2026.

According to LeFranc, “The Penguin” serves as a connecting link between the two “Batman” movies. Essentially, it will transition seamlessly into the sequel that Matt [Reeves] has already mapped out for the second film.

The Batman 85th-Anniversary Popcorn Bucket is Just the Latest Memorable Popcorn Bucket

This Batman-themed popcorn bucket is just the latest memorable, collectible popcorn bucket exciting movie fans. Earlier this summer, fans were shocked (and amused) by the “intentionally crude” Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn bucket released by AMC for the wildly successful Marvel film. That particular bucket got some pretty interesting reactions — including one from Marvel’s Pizza Poppa himself, Bruce Campbell who told ComicBook at San Diego maybe they should “send that one back.”

Previously this year, AMC introduced another popular popcorn container that garnered considerable attention alongside the launch of the Dune: Part Two merchandise. This particular bucket was modeled after the sandworm from the movie and soon became a viral sensation, surprising the designers as it wasn’t initially anticipated.

Marcus Gonzalez, the global creative director for Zinc Group, mentioned earlier that it’s hard to predict what topic or trend the internet might seize upon and how it will be popularized.

What is The Penguin About?

At present, information about the specifics of ‘The Penguin’ movie is somewhat limited, but we do know that it will be another installment in Matt Reeves’ Batman series. In this film, Colin Farrell takes on the role of Oz Cobb, while Cristin Milioti plays Sofia Falcone and Rhenzy Feliz is cast as Victor Aguilar. Additionally, Michael Kelly portrays Johnny Viti, Shohreh Aghdashloo stars as Nadia Maroni, Deirdre O’Connell takes on the role of Francis Cobb, Clancy Brown plays Salvatore Maroni, James Madio is Milos Grapa, Scott Cohen acts as Luca Falcone, Michael Zegen portrays Alberto Falcone, Carmen Ejogo assumes the character of Eve Karlo, and Theo Rossi stars as Dr. Julian Rush.

The first episode of “The Penguin” series is set to kick off on Thursday, September 19th, and it will be replayed throughout the weekend until Sunday, September 22nd at 9 p.m., Eastern/Pacific Time. Following this initial premiere, new episodes of “The Penguin” will air every Sunday at 9 p.m. starting from then on.
