Batman Movie Figures Coming Feb 21st

On February 21st, McFarlane Toys will introduce a collection of fresh Batman action figures in their DC Multiverse series. While it’s not unexpected that McFarlane would release new Batman figures, these particular ones are inspired by the iconic 1989 film featuring Michael Keaton and the acclaimed 2005 movie, “Batman Begins,” starring Christian Bale. A sneak peek at these two characters is provided here, but the assortment is also anticipated to encompass Demon / Ghoul / Fear Batman and Scarecrow from “Batman Begins.

Keep in mind that McFarlane has produced figures resembling Michael Keaton’s and Christian Bale’s Batmans in previous collections, such as the Movie Collection 6-pack and the ’89 Batmobile vehicle set. Unlike those, these new figures will be standalone and may include a few alterations.

It’s important to note that the Fear Batman is an exclusive release at Target under the Gold Label, essentially serving as a Chase variant of The Dark Knight Batman. On the other hand, the Scarecrow figure belongs to the Platinum Edition, indicating it might have a limited run and may not be available online. These figures have been seen in Target stores, but they’ve proven hard to come by for many collectors. However, the ’89 Batman and Batman Begins Batman figures will be accessible online through multiple retailers. Here are some key points…

Starting from February 21st at 9am PT / 12pm ET, you can pre-order both Batman figures on Entertainment Earth and Amazon. The ’89 Batman figure will include alternate hands, throwing stars, a communications device, Batarang, and a grapple gun. The Batman Begins Batman figures come with Batarangs, a grapple gun, and alternate hands. Scarecrow will only have alternate hands. As of now, Target hasn’t made the Fear Batman or Scarecrow figures available online, but they might be soon.

Don’t forget to jot down February 20th in your calendar, as that’s when McFarlane Toys will unveil their recreation of the cover for The Killing Joke comic! This figure is inspired by the classic 1988 graphic novel Batman: The Killing Joke by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland. It depicts the Joker, with a sinister grin, looking through his camera. Similar to the previous figure based on Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns #1 cover, it is expected to be in 7-inch scale, complete with accessories and a backdrop replicating the comic cover. Just like its predecessor, The Killing Joke Joker will only be available at Amazon as an exclusive item. Keep an eye out for it this Thursday, February 20th, priced approximately $29.99 on Amazon.
