PlatinumGames has shared that they have several exciting announcements lined up to commemorate the 15th anniversary of their PS3 action game Bayonetta, which was first launched in Japan in October 2009. The game later became available in the USA and Europe in January 2010. For the purpose of the anniversary celebrations, the Western release date will be considered as the official one.
To honor the 15-year milestone of the franchise, which includes two sequels released on Nintendo systems, PlatinumGames plans to unveil several announcements throughout the entirety of 2025. Effectively, they want to commemorate this significant event with fans worldwide and officially commence their ‘Bayonetta 15th Anniversary Year.’ This celebration will last a full year, as stated in a post on the developer’s website.
To date, a musical keepsake box dedicated to Bayonetta has been unveiled, up for pre-order immediately. This unique item plays the Bayonetta theme tune and retails at €220.00. Monthly mobile phone wallpapers are also in the pipeline, which can be downloaded from the official site.

First introduced on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC towards the end of 2009 (in Japan) and beginning of 2010 (in the west), Bayonetta is often recognized as one of the most fashionable action games ever made. A remastered version along with another PlatinumGames game Vanquish was launched for PS4 in 2020. However, its two subsequent versions have only been released on Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo Switch platforms.
