As someone who has grown up with Wallace and Gromit gracing our screens every Christmas, it is an absolute delight to see them back again this year! Their unique blend of humor, heart, and ingenious inventions never fails to bring a smile to my face. The idents created by Aardman for the BBC are no exception. I particularly enjoyed the Christmas Jumpers one, where Wallace, Gromit, and Norbot settle down for some quality TV time in their festive knits. It’s a scene that resonates deeply with me, as I too have spent countless holidays snuggled up on the couch, enjoying the comforting glow of the television.
Every year, as a cherished custom, the BBC unveils its holiday logos that will air on all their channels during the Christmas season. This time around, Wallace and Gromit are joining the festivities.
On tonight, Saturday, 30th November, following Strictly Come Dancing, the three identities crafted by Aardman to honor the premiere of Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl on Christmas Day will make their debut on the channel.
In the first segment named “Christmas Jumpers,” Wallace, Gromit, and their novel smart gnome Norbot, who will appear in this year’s movie, are shown cozily watching TV at home while donning Christmas sweaters. Surrounding them is a variety of Wallace’s innovations meant to enhance relaxation on the couch.
As a film enthusiast, I’d rephrase it as follows: In the second film, “Big Light-Up,” Gromit’s conventional Christmas tree setup is overshadowed by Wallace’s high-tech, mechanical version. The third movie, titled “Ice Sculpture,” finds us creating intricate ice sculptures alongside Norbot. However, as usual with this robotic sidekick, his creation takes a chilling and ominous turn.

Sean Clarke, the Managing Director of Aardman, expressed his feelings about the idents as follows: “It’s a special moment when BBC unveils their famous idents, signaling the arrival of Christmas. It was both an honor and privilege to be given the opportunity this year to celebrate the comeback of Wallace & Gromit with some distinctive and enjoyable idents. I believe these will bring joy to people’s faces during the holiday season.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Moore, the BBC’s Chief Content Officer, expressed her excitement: “We can’t wait for Wallace & Gromit to be back on the BBC this Christmas Day! To celebrate their return, we’ve asked the brilliant team at Aardman to create three festive idents filled with joy for our viewers.
Today, Wallace & Gromit have become globally recognized figures, embodying a quintessential example of homegrown triumph. Here at the BBC, we take great pride in our enduring partnership with them and are thrilled to debut their latest escapade, “Vengeance Most Fowl.
In their upcoming journey, Vengeance Most Fowl will encounter once again their arch-nemesis, Feathers McGraw – a character they previously faced during their second escapade titled “The Misadventure of the Trouser Tangle.
More recently, he made a brief and easily overlooked appearance in the Aardman production titled “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.
