As a die-hard fan of Beastars, I am thrilled to see that the world of anthropomorphic creatures created by Paru Itagaki continues to expand even after the conclusion of the main series. The release of Beast Complex, a spin-off manga, has given us insights into the lives of our beloved characters, Legoshi and Haru, post-Beastars.
As a dedicated fan of Beastars who’s been following the manga and anime series since its inception, I’m both excited and a little wistful as we approach the rumored final season on Netflix this year. While it’s bittersweet to know that the original story of Legoshi and Haru has already come to an end in the manga in 2021, created by Paru Itagaki, I’m thrilled that she hasn’t abandoned the anthropomorphic universe entirely.
The “Beast Complex” stories explore different characters in the world of “Beastars,” moving beyond the central theme of a high school survival storyline. Instead, it delves into the lives of anthropomorphic beings navigating a world filled with predators and prey. Although an independent anime adaptation for this spin-off hasn’t been confirmed yet, the success of Netflix’s “Beastars” anime produced by Studio Orange may increase the chances of a television series based on “Beast Complex.”
Legoshi And Haru Return
In the newest installment of “Beast Complex,” the manga sequel to “Beastars,” Legoshi and Haru continue their story. While I won’t reveal major spoilers, it seems that their lives have become more tranquil compared to how chaotic things were in the initial series.
In the most recent edition of Weekly Shounen Champion issue 34/2024, Paru Itagaki released a new installment of “Beastars” featuring the main couple, Legoshi and Haru. The story offers an insight into their everyday life together. (C) Akita Shoten & Paru Itagaki for the artwork.

If you’ve fallen behind on “Beastars,” catch up by streaming all its seasons on Netflix. Here’s a simple description from Netflix: In this world, carnivores and herbivores live together. After a violent incident at school, Legoshi chooses to leave and live alone. Rouis attends a prestigious university and confronts his father. Haru faces her own challenges on campus. The city experiences an uptick in devouring incidents. The ominous criminal orchestrating these acts is closing in on Legoshi and others.
