Natasha Rothwell, who portrays Belinda in The White Lotus, has disagreed with the idea that her character treated Pornchai similarly to how Tanya was treated by her during the comedy-drama’s first season.
Originally, Jennifer Coolidge had pledged to financially support the spa manager in starting her own venture; however, she later reneged on this promise as it might lead her into repeating harmful behavioral habits.
When Tanya’s previous spouse, either Greg or Gary (we don’t necessarily know what he might be called), consented to pay Belinda $5 million for keeping quiet about his role in his ex-wife’s murder, she realized that she could no longer collaborate with her colleague and lover, Pornchai, a partnership they had previously discussed during the season.
Initially, she didn’t make any commitments to him. To clarify, Tanya did promise something, so she didn’t breach a promise. Moreover, it seems like she’s still trying to find her footing and sort out her life. I believe that’s her primary concern, correct?
Upon observing her actions, my initial thought might seem like a superficial understanding. However, upon further contemplation, I believe people will come to see that no promises were given or breached. Instead, she seems to be pausing deliberately to thoroughly comprehend the situation.
“And never say never. You know what I mean? I think that her connection to him was real.”

It was interesting to note that Rothwell mentioned she hadn’t noticed the parallel between Belinda’s choice to turn down Pornchai’s proposal and Tanya’s action of leaving the spa without informing her superior.
She exclaimed, “That’s unbelievable, I never saw it coming,” she said. And creator Mike White, in an interview before or after the finale aired, had hinted… or as I later found out, on set he mentioned, ‘Oh yes, one of the early decisions I made was that Belinda would do to Pornchai what Tanya did to her.’
I didn’t notice it at first, and it wasn’t immediately clear because I’m a Libra. I thought, ‘She didn’t make any promises.’ You see, we had hoped she would ride off with him, but she didn’t exactly give that assurance.

As I reflect on the conclusion of Season 3 in the critically-acclaimed series by White, anticipation for Season 4 is palpable. In an interview with Deadline, he hinted that the dialogue for the upcoming season might “deviate slightly from the familiar rhythm of crashing waves on rocks,” implying a fresh and potentially exciting approach to the dialogue.
And course, “there’s always more room for more murders at the White Lotus hotels”, he teased.
However, given that White supposedly dislikes cold weather, it appears less probable that our destination will be a lavish ski resort as many fans have suggested.
Instead, there are whispers suggesting a different European location could be the backdrop for season 2, hinting at the glamorous French Riviera as a possibility.
Besides Four Seasons hotels located in Madrid, Milan, Lisbon, and Paris (all cities where they maintain a close partnership), there is also a Four Seasons estate situated in Hampshire, England, should White consider venturing into the United Kingdom.
