Novo Nordisk, the manufacturer of Ozempic, has informed TopMob News that this medication has not received approval from the FDA for long-term weight management use.
As a patient who has struggled with weight loss for years, I can understand the allure of a medication like Ozempic that may help with both diabetes management and weight loss. However, as someone who values transparency and adherence to the law, I fully support Novo Nordisk’s stance on off-label use of their medicines.
For the comedian Handler, Ozempic is nothing to joke about. She unknowingly obtained a prescription for this medication from her doctor, who she referred to as her “anti-aging specialist,” not realizing what the drug actually was.

Richards replied to a commenter on her January 5, 2023 Instagram post featuring herself and her friends post-workout: “I haven’t taken ozempic.” She also stated in another response, “I’ve never used it.”
