Beloved Doctor Who and Carry On Star Julian Holloway Passes Away at 80

80-year-old Julian Holloway, famed for his versatile work in TV, movies, and stage performances, has sadly passed away.

Many tributes are coming from all directions for the actor, who became widely known through the Carry On series and also played a significant role in the Doctor Who episode titled “Survival.

Actress Sarah Douglas has led tributes, saying: “I lost a dear friend yesterday and I’m so, so sad.

I’ve been friends with Julian Holloway since the 1970s, and throughout these years, he has remained a cherished friend. Among all the people I know, Julian stood out for his sharp wit, and our conversations were always filled with laughter.

I’ll carry on saying: “Plenty will be penned about him and his extraordinary accomplishments, yet at this moment, he’s simply a dearly departed and deeply missed companion of mine.

Miriam Margolyes expressed a heartfelt tribute to the deceased actor on Facebook as well: “I’m deeply saddened. What a remarkable person. May you and his entire family find peace and longevity. We’ve lost too many too soon.

Initiated his acting journey back in 1961, Holloway made his debut on The Avengers. Later on, he took leading roles in productions such as Fair Exchange, Our Man Higgins, and Pardon the Expression.

Throughout his acting journey, Holloway appeared in various roles such as those in the police series “The Sweeney”, the popular soap opera “Beverly Hills, 90210”, and movies like “A Christmas Carol” and “Porridge”.

Among his recent works are Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Summer of Rockets, and Regular Show, where he lent his voice talent.

Broadcaster Morris Bright expressed his deep sadness upon hearing the news, stating, “He was a versatile actor who excelled in both comedic and dramatic parts, from ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ to ‘Carry On,’ and even more.

I’m the son of Stanley Holloway, who recently passed on an OBE to me. I will care for it, keeping their memories alive.

Meanwhile, actress Carol Drinkwater said: “RIP Julian Holloway. A very fine actor.”
