Beloved PSP Game From 2011 Leaks for PS5 and PS4

A highly successful game originally released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) in 2011 could be making a comeback on both PS5 and PS4 soon. Throughout its lifetime, the PSP proved to be a massive triumph for Sony as it sold over 80 million units worldwide. Some of the many great games available on the platform included titles like “God of War: Chains of Olympus,” “Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker,” “Persona 3 Portable,” “Jeanna d’Arc,” “Daxter,” “LocoRoco,” “Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars,” and “Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters.” It appears that PlayStation is now planning to transfer one of its most critically-acclaimed first-party games from the PSP’s latter years onto these newer platforms.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve stumbled upon some intriguing info from a recent backend leak of the PlayStation Store – it appears that Patapon 3 might be making a comeback on both PS5 and PS4! Developed by Pyramid and Japan Studio, Patapon 3 was the thrilling finale in the renowned rhythm-action series. Previously, PlayStation has revamped Patapon and Patapon 2 for contemporary consoles, leaving only Patapon 3 out of reach, as it’s still exclusive to PSP. The question remains whether this beloved game will receive a remastered version or simply be the next PSP title to grace PS5 and PS4. One thing’s certain though – it’s looking like we’ll be seeing Patapon 3 again soon!

The intriguing aspect of the possible revival of Patapon 3 is that it coincides with an upcoming spiritual successor to the series, titled Ratatan. This reimagining of Patapon is being developed by a few key creators who were instrumental in the PSP trilogy. While specifics about its release are yet to be disclosed, Ratatan is expected to launch around 2025.

If the port of “Patapon 3” for PS5 and PS4 is authentic, it might be announced as early as this week. Tomorrow, February 12th, PlayStation will host its next State of Play presentation, and although the content that will be displayed isn’t yet known, it wouldn’t surprise us if “Patapon 3” makes an appearance during the broadcast in some form or another. If this happens, we’ll keep you updated here on ComicBook as soon as more information becomes available.

Wouldn’t it be exciting if another classic PSP game makes its way onto current-generation PlayStation consoles? And, do you have any thoughts on which other PSP games you’d love to see ported over in the future? Share your suggestions below in the comments!
