Below Deck Med's Capt. Sandy Confronts Rude Guests—and One Walks Away

As a seasoned viewer of Below Deck, I must say that the guests aboard these luxury yachts certainly know how to add a dash of spice to the otherwise tranquil sea! From the flirtatious antics of Georgia, causing Captain Lee Rosbach’s eyebrows to raise higher than ever, to Delores, who took swimming lessons from Captain Lee by jumping into the ocean against his orders, these guests never fail to entertain.

These demanding Below Deck Mediterranean guests definitely know how to rock the boat.

During the August 12th episode of the Bravo series, I found myself causing a stir among the team due to my less-than-respectful behavior as part of a fresh wave of vacationers.

Instead of continuously grumbling over climbing stairs and having disputes with staff over cutlery, and even requesting the flight crew to reorganize the displeasing furniture, the unruly passengers, particularly headed by main charter guest Mahisha, left an unpleasant impression on everyone. Their conduct was so appalling that Captain Sandy Yawn felt compelled to intervene and address the group about their disrespectful behavior.

In my view, I frequently express this thought: By breaking someone’s spirit through harsh treatment, you may extinguish their willpower. However, if you show kindness and gratitude, you’ll foster growth within them, inspiring them to strive harder for your cause.

The captain shared an experience with a difficult client who had spent a significant amount on a yacht charter. He recounted, “My crew was disrespected by this individual.” In response, he decided to take action, stating, “I informed them that if they continued to behave rudely towards my team, I would terminate the charter the following day.” To his surprise, the client responded, “I don’t care about the money. End the charter immediately.”

The reprimanding caused one of the guests, Neysla, to walk away and say under her breath, “I’m, like, over this conversation.”

However, Sandy noted how amazing her season nine crew is, adding, “I’m happy to have them.”

Within the privacy of the confession booth, the Captain articulated the reasons behind her decision to act following the crew’s grievances, particularly those expressed by Chief Steward Aesha Scott, whom they hold dear.

She emphasized, “The way you interact with people carries a lot of weight.” Based on what Aesha and the rest of the team have shared with me, it seems these clients might be challenging. Am I making myself clear?

After I shared my advice, it seemed to have made quite an impact. Later on that very same day, Aesha confessed her surprise at how well-mannered the entire group had transformed.

The Chief Steward explained in a private moment, “Suddenly, it appears that all the guests possess a minimum standard of good manners.” She mused, “Perhaps they’ve had a moment of self-reflection, understood their poor behavior, and this could be their attempt at making amends.”

And when the charter was over, Mahisha gave the crew a glowing evaluation.

She expressed her gratitude, saying “You all did a fantastic job, it was incredible!” as they left the venue. “I believe everything went smoothly, didn’t it?” she added.

As an utterly smitten admirer, I found myself exclaiming, “Did we even travel on the same boat?!” in a burst of amusement, during a private moment. To be honest, I’m more than thrilled with what unfolded, but let me tell you, it left me completely bewildered!

Over the years, the Bravo franchise has been filled with numerous dramatic and outlandish incidents, largely due to some challenging and forward guests. One such individual is Georgia, who showed an inappropriate level of flirtation towards the straight-talking captain, Lee Rosbach.

Occasionally, a person may yearn for a frothy celebration – and that’s exactly what this exuberant guest requested. Admittedly, watching him dance in a pool of around four inches of foam while intoxicated was surprising. Yet, it was equally thrilling due to his infectious enthusiasm.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d say, “Let’s dive into Delores’ story! This season eight guest of ‘Below Deck’ created quite a stir – swimming in the ocean during the dead of night after disobeying Captain Lee’s instructions to remain on board. To add fuel to the fire, this impromptu swim was against all safety rules. For the first time in his career, Captain Lee had no choice but to cut Delores’ charter short and bid her farewell.”

However, while being escorted away on the tender, Delores jumped into the ocean. Bold move, lady.

In season two of “Below Deck Sailing Yacht,” Barrie embarked on the Parsifal III accompanied by his mixed family, consisting of his future spouse and ex-husband. The crew had a busy schedule catering to this extensive guest list, with chef Natasha particularly busy. Barrie didn’t hesitate to send his breakfast back and requested that his family be served individually rather than buffet-style.

The opening episode of season eight of Below Deck was quite unforgettable, marked by an argument among charter guests centering around deckhand James Hough. To be more specific, one guest named Shay staked a claim on James. Unfortunately for her, her romantic aspirations were dashed when her friend Lexi playfully rode a jet ski with James, sparking tension. This led to a heated disagreement during dinner, leaving the Below Deck crew in disbelief.

Tonight on “Below Deck Mediterranean,” it was a girls’ night out at sea, but as the cocktails kept coming, some of the females found themselves becoming a bit too tactile with crew member Jack Stirrup. Just when things seemed to be spiraling, Captain Sandy stepped in to keep the peace.

Onboard the vessel, the team unexpectedly found themselves as spectators to an impromptu performance when two passengers decided to express their affection in the open, easily visible crow’s nest area, which happened to be under constant surveillance by cameras.

During the very same episode, the crew observed a romantic moment between two guests on deck, only to later find a discarded condom on a nightstand – an item they realized their passengers were unfamiliar with the concept of tidying up after themselves.

Generally speaking, the charter guest is considered to be correct in their demands. But during season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, guest Erica asked Captain Glenn Shephard to find a way to stop the ship from rocking due to a storm. Regrettably for Erica, Captain Glenn couldn’t alter the weather conditions as they were in the midst of a thunderstorm.

Among other notable aspects of this gathering, there’s a woman brimming with tales spanning countless hours, allegations of bullying surfacing between some of the females, and many additional intriguing details.

In an episode of Below Deck, some guests made a rather unusual demand – they wanted colorful gumballs, not just any regular ones. If the crew couldn’t find them on the boat, these guests even hinted at insisting that they be flown in by helicopter. This request was quite outlandish due to its randomness.

On this particular installment of Below Deck, it transpires that some visitors did not rate their stay as five-star exceptional, yet they still took the time to share their reasons. However, a surprising number of guests in this instance chose to depart anonymously without bidding farewell to the crew.
