Ben Affleck’s kids are his biggest critics.

At the Los Angeles premiere of Accountant 2 on April 16, the actor brought along his children Violet (age 19), Seraphina (age 16), and Samuel (age 13) – whom he shares with his ex, Jennifer Garner. Later, he explained why this particular event was particularly nerve-wracking for him.

Fortunately, the actor known for “Good Will Hunting” (who was recently seen with Jennifer Lopez’s 17-year-old twins Max and Emme at a screening) didn’t have to worry about how his children would react to his latest movie, as it is set to be released in theaters on April 25.

Ben commented, ‘They truly enjoyed it,’ to which I responded, ‘Really? You liked it?’ They replied enthusiastically, ‘Yes, it was great!’ It seemed they were taken aback. As though by some stroke of luck or magical coincidence, something I did turned out to be acceptable.

Indeed, Ben was doubly hesitant, for he openly confessed that the responses from his children towards Armageddon left lasting impressions on him.

He remembered them saying, “This is incredibly foolish,” in response to the 1998 movie. His son commented, “That doesn’t add up.” To which he replied, “Logic wasn’t a consideration in the filmmaking process for this movie. It wasn’t about logical consistency.

Indeed, Ben had previously admitted that his 13-year-old is particularly difficult to please.

Ben playfully told TopMob News earlier this month, “My son adores everyone, yet he’s astonished that I seem to know some folks he considers ‘cool.’ He asks, ‘Why do these people want to spend time with my father?’ Although his question might have merit, I’m managing to avoid answering it.

Despite everything, Ben values his children’s praise above all else. In his own words, “One positive comment from my kids is enough for me to stay committed – I decide to quit when I’ve reached the peak.
