As I delve into the rich tapestry of the lives of Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, two powerhouse figures in Hollywood, I am struck by their unwavering commitment to each other, their children, and their values. Their journey from the bright lights of Tinseltown to the quieter, more grounded realm of family life is a testament to the enduring power of love and the importance of finding balance amidst the chaos of stardom.
There’s something about family.
As a devoted father, I wholeheartedly endorse collaborating with my children. Ben Stiller, who is blessed with daughter Ella, 22, and son Quinlin, 19, by wife Christine Taylor, unequivocally agrees with this sentiment, and his response rings clear: “Definitely!
In a unique interview with TopMob News, he shared that his children, who are no longer kids but established actors, have caught the acting bug from him. He expressed his delight at the prospect of collaborating with them, as they are both exceptionally talented. So far, he has worked with them on minor projects, but he eagerly anticipates more opportunities to do so, finding it an exciting prospect.
He continued, “I think eventually they’ll probably be directing and producing stuff that I’ll be asking them to cast me in. That’s how it goes.” (For more with Ben, tune into TopMob News tonight, Nov. 26 at 11 p.m.)
Indeed, much like their siblings, these two children seldom grace the red carpets alongside their parents. However, Ella has moved a significant step forward towards emulating her parents’ careers by earning an acting degree from the esteemed Juilliard School in New York City in May.
Yesterday, Ella announced on Instagram that she had earned her BFA in Acting from Juilliard. She couldn’t be more thrilled to be finished or more proud of having made it through or more thankful for the unwavering support her family provided, which helped her get there and persevere. In other words, she now has a degree in acting! Hooray!!
She also included a nod to Taylor Swift’s “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me” in the caption, writing, “YOU WOULDN’T LAST AN HOUR IN THE ASYLUM (@juilliardschool) WHERE THEY RAISED ME (No, like, really).”
For Ben, the film was a worthy return to the big screen.
He shared that he had greatly appreciated the concept behind the movie, expressing this to TopMob. Being a fan of David Gordon Green, he was thrilled when Green mentioned making a film about four kids he knew, and wrote the script especially for them, wanting to shoot it at their farm in Ohio using an old-school film camera, adopting a raw indie style to tell a sincere story without cynicism. He felt certain that this movie would resonate with him deeply.
The 58-year-old went on to say, “I instinctively sensed that for me, this film seemed incredibly authentic. I knew David would create something with an indie vibe yet heartwarming and sweet. Plus, it promised to be a lot of fun. So I decided to join the project.
In the world of entertainment, he goes by Uncle Mike, but off-screen, he’s simply known as Dad. For a glimpse into some heartwarming instances between Ben and his loved ones, continue reading.

Previously, Ben has openly discussed that his daughter’s passion for acting emerged quite young.
In her own words to UsWeekly back in 2018, the Arrested Development alum expressed, “She emerged with a purpose from the start, and I’ve always wanted to support rather than hinder her.” She is an independent, determined young lady who thrives on such qualities. Born into this world, yes, but living in New York City has opened her eyes to countless inspiring experiences, shows, and more… fueling her passion.
Meanwhile, before Ben can collaborate with Ella and Quinlin on a project, he’ll have to be patient. However, the former Night at the Museum star is already taking on a paternal role in his upcoming movie Nutcrackers.
In the movie “Nutcrackers,” directed by David Gordon Green, set to debut on Hulu on November 29th, Ben portrays Uncle Mike who is career-focused. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he’s required to journey to rural Ohio to look after his recently orphaned nephews – the real-life brothers Atlas Janson, Arlo Janson, Ulysses Janson, and Homer Janson.
For Ben, the film was a worthy return to the big screen.
He shared, “I was really taken by the concept of the film.” Speaking to TopMob, he expressed his admiration for David Gordon Green. When Green mentioned creating a movie about four kids he knew, and writing it specifically for them, to be filmed on their farm in Ohio using a traditional camera and an indie approach, he felt drawn to it. The idea of a heartfelt story that wasn’t overly cynical appealed to him, so he anticipated enjoying it.
The 58-year-old stated, “I instinctively sensed that for me, this film was an incredibly natural concept. I believed David would create something with an indie spirit yet heartwarmingly sweet. Plus, it promised to be enjoyable throughout the process. Therefore, I decided to join in.
And while he’s Uncle Mike onscreen, he’s just “Dad” IRL. For more of Ben’s sweetest moments with his family, keep reading.

2000 saw me tying the knot with none other than Ben Stiller, a man I’ve long admired. Fast-forward to 2017, we parted ways, but not legally – perhaps hoping for a reunion someday. And then came the pandemic, when we hunkered down together with our lovely kids Ella and Quinlin. To my delight, this unexpected quarantine period brought us back together permanently.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of accompanying my father, Ben, to various events, such as the June 2023 Tribeca Film Festival debut of the short film “Let Liv“, where my mom, Christine, graced the screen. For this special occasion, we harmoniously coordinated our attire in different black ensembles.
Earlier on, Ella accompanied her father to several high-profile events such as the 2022 Emmys, the 2018 premiere of “Free Solo,” the 2017 premiere of “The Meyerowitz Stories,” and the opening night of the Broadway play “Groundhog Day.
In the year 2019, the pair attended the Golden Globe Awards together to back the Showtime miniseries “Escape to Dannemora”. This series brought Ben a nomination in the category of Outstanding Directing.
Ben shared insights about collaborating with Ella on the set of “Escape to Dannemora“, expressing to TopMob that he felt “extremely proud” of his child.
The actor from Zoolander expressed his delight as things turned out smoothly. He mentioned that she treated him with great respect, which he valued since he often feels the need to put on a friendly front when interacting with his teenage daughter, wanting to set an example of good behavior. Interestingly, this encounter was remarkably positive for both parties.
Beyond her minor part in Escape to Dannemora, Ella has also featured in Hubie Halloween and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. As Ben mentioned to TopMob in 2019, Ella appears to be eager to delve into various acting opportunities.
In 2018, Christine shared with Us Weekly that she had never attempted to dissuade Ella from pursuing a path similar to her parents’.
Christine stated, “From birth, she had a purpose, and I was determined to let her pursue it. She’s an independent, ambitious young woman who thrives on new experiences. Growing up in New York City has undoubtedly fueled her curiosity, exposing her to numerous events, shows, and sights. The passion is evident, and I can’t suppress it, though I didn’t actively foster it.
Previously, it was disclosed that Ella talked to him about feeling neglected in her childhood because he was preoccupied with his profession.
He shared with Esquire, “She expresses herself clearly on the topic, but at times it’s information I’d rather not receive. It’s tough to listen to,” he admitted. “It’s a struggle because it reminds me of when I wasn’t present in the same ways my parents, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, weren’t there for me. I had always believed, ‘I won’t repeat that behavior.’
While it wasn’t pleasant for him to listen to Ella expressing that sentiment, Ben emphasized the importance of understanding her emotions: “However, I found myself grappling with the balance between nurturing my own aspirations as well.
Instead of maintaining records about his job-related absences, Ella and her brother Quinlin simply preferred to invest in quality time with their father, as the actor explained.
He clarified, “I’ve come to realize that your children don’t evaluate your success based on your career. It’s not accurate to assume they care about it. Instead, they crave a parent who is emotionally available and supportive. I believe they value this more than seeing me pursue new creative heights.
On “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert”, Ben shared that Ella, in the course of teaching her how to drive, transformed him into a devoted Taylor Swift admirer by making him listen to her music.
Ben shared that playing Taylor Swift’s music had a calming effect on her, and it even had an impact on him. Now, he admits to being a devoted fan of Taylor Swift, going so far as to say he’s a “Swiftie”. He delved deeper into his fandom, discussing the intricacies of recent albums like ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’, pointing out songs like ‘Cardigan’, ‘Betty’, and ‘August’, which all depict the same love triangle from different perspectives. Interestingly, the characters in these songs are named after Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s children. He also mentioned the extended version of ‘All Too Well’ from her vault collection.
Following our collaboration on “Tropic Thunder” with Ben in the year 2007, I decided to pause my acting career to devote more time and attention to nurturing our children.
During an interview on The Morning Call in 2010, Christine expressed that the decision wasn’t a big one for her. When she had Ella, she explained, everything in her life shifted. She couldn’t believe the depth of love she felt for this tiny being. She wanted to be present for every moment, and given Ben’s work schedule, she felt it was crucial for one of them to provide a sense of stability within their family.
Ben told Parade in 2016 that he felt “very fortunate” that Christine made that decision.
About 10 years ago, Ben and I chose to live a life without consuming animal products. Now we’re trying to encourage our children to follow suit.
In 2012, Christine shared that when she makes green smoothies in the morning, her kids look at them as if they’re strange concoctions from another world. “Just come and join us!” she joked, “Stop complaining and just give it a try.”
The actress from The Search Party continued by explaining that their children have different preferences when it comes to vegetables and fruits. “My daughter enjoys eating vegetables but isn’t fond of fruit, while my son loves fruit but not vegetables,” she said.
Despite this, Christine remains optimistic. “It’s like a phase where your parents aren’t popular for a while, then they become cool again,” she explained. “We just keep planting the idea in their minds.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d rephrase it like this: Quinlin isn’t usually seen at public events, but he made an exception at the 2018 Project A.L.S. Benefit, where he was accompanied by his family. Christine shared with Us Weekly that this was his first event and it seemed he was enjoying every moment of it. Interestingly, their daughter encouraged him to attend, and it turned out to be a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to catch up with old friends they’ve known for about 20 years. Their kids have grown up together within this extended family setting. Ben and Christine have been sharing their passions, such as Project A.L.S., with their children, of which Christine is a board member. Attending the event on a school night was a special occasion for them, allowing them to unwind, dress up, take pictures, while also learning about an extraordinary organization like Project A.L.S.
