The Fockers are ready for Ariana Grande.
Following the announcement that the “Positions” singer would be joining the cast of the fourth “Meet the Parents” film, the original actors such as Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, and Teri Polo gave insights into what fans can anticipate.
In a June 9 interview with NBC’s Joe Fryer (as reported by Today), Ben enthusiastically commented, “She’s incredibly talented! Her comedy skills are fantastic. I can’t reveal much about the film right now, but the character she’s portraying is going to be hilarious and a key part of our upcoming movie.
During the interview, when the Oscar nominee’s talent for music was mentioned, Ben and Robert playfully suggested that their upcoming movie – a sequel to “Meet The Parents,” “Meet the Fockers,” and “Little Fockers” – would inevitably feature music.
As Robert joked, “Half the scenes I have with her will be singing scenes.”
At the same time, Ariana shares the excitement of the cast about her joining the film. Following the announcement last month, she expressed her joy on an Instagram Story saying, “Really looking forward to becoming part of this family!!!
As a devoted follower, I’m thrilled to share that, although the specifics of the movie plot remain a secret, it’s scheduled to hit theaters on November 26, 2026. This is almost exactly one year after fans will get another chance to see Ariana grace the big screens in Wicked: For Good alongside Cynthia Erivo, which is set for release this coming November.
Ariana’s return to acting is proving rewarding for her, even though most of her professional life has been spent as a pop singer. Interestingly, she hinted at focusing more on this field after the achievement of the play “Wicked“.
Ariana expresses her affection for acting, particularly in musical theater, during the Las Culturistas podcast in November. She spoke about rediscovering the aspect of herself that began in musical theater, which combines a passion for comedy, and finds solace in using these parts of herself to create characters, bits, voices, and songs.
Arianators can relax a bit, she’s not going to stop using her signature whistle notes entirely.
She was very confident when she said, “I’ll never stop making music. I’ll continue performing live on stage. And you have my word, it will be pop music, as sure as shaking hands.
Ariana isn’t the sole star gracing the silver screen imminently. Stay tuned for additional films set to premiere in 2025…
