Bend Studio Still Plans on “Creating Cool S**t” After Live-Service Project Cancellation

This past week has been challenging for both Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games, as their projects have been cancelled by Sony. Although Sony has assured that these studios won’t be closed, their future remains uncertain. On a somewhat positive note, Kevin McAllister, the community manager at Bend Studio, expressed on Twitter that they are determined to keep producing exciting and interesting work.

Bend Studio’s latest venture was a new game concept featuring multiplayer elements, inspired by the open-world mechanics of “Days Gone”, their previous title. With its termination, there’s anticipation that they might shift focus towards developing “Days Gone 2”, a sequel that fans have been asking for a long time. It’s said that the collapse of Concord may have sparked Sony’s change in strategy regarding live-service projects and led to cancellations. The hero shooter struggled to sell even 25,000 copies during its initial release before being removed from online stores. Eventually, it was taken offline along with Firewalk Studios.
