Benson Boone’s Crotch Grab at Grammys Has the Internet in an Uproar

People are showing appreciation for Benson Boone‘s beautiful things.

Following the 22-year-old’s rendition of “Beautiful Things” at the 2025 Grammys on February 2nd, spectators were abuzz over an inappropriate incident during his act, where it appeared he was awkwardly readjusting himself. On the stage of the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Benson donned a snug, sequined baby blue jumpsuit with a defined waistline and a particularly plunging neckline. Toward the finale of his act (as captured in a video posted on Feb. 2nd), the “In The Stars” performer spread his legs apart and slightly lowered his attire in the lower part of his body for all to see.

After the secretive instance, spectators raised some queries regarding Benson’s hand gestures. One user on platform X even inquired, “What made him clutch little Boone that way?

Another wrote, “Why do men fix that crotch in any situation no matter who around and watching.”

Some speculated that Benson might have been subtly indicating that his attire was less than perfect. One interpretation suggested, “He seems uneasy.

Some paid particular attention to SZA, whose face remained impassive as the shot shifted towards her following the conclusion of the moment.

One user playfully remarked, “‘Anyways’ was her silent response,’ while another humorously added, ‘She had a muzzle on.’

At the 2025 Grammys, hosted by Trevor Noah for the fifth straight year, Benson not only showcased his talent as a performer but also found himself in contention for the Best New Artist award. However, it was Chappell Roan who took home the trophy that night, beating out Benson and other nominees including Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims, Doechii, Raye, Shaboozey, and Khruangbhin.

Despite not having won a Grammy, Benson has much to be thankful for given that his smash hit “Beautiful Things” reached the top of the Billboard Global 200 chart in 2023.

In an interview with Variety in March 2024, Benson admitted he was finding it extremely challenging to articulate his thoughts. “At the moment,” he said, “I’m struggling to make sense of everything… Yet, when I take a step back and observe what’s transpiring, it leaves me utterly astonished. This is because it’s something many people aspire to achieve, and I am among those fortunate individuals.
