As a long-time fan of “Berserk”, I can attest to the fact that it’s not just another anime series; it’s a masterpiece that delves deep into the complexities of relationships, betrayal, and the relentless pursuit of revenge. The bond between Guts and Griffith, though fraught with tension, is one for the ages.
Berserk has solidified itself as one of the most remarkable anime narratives ever crafted. It’s not only about a vengeful warrior battling through demonic adversaries but also delves into various relationships shattered by a brutal setting. One of the most significant betrayals from Kentaro Miura’s masterwork was Griffith abandoning his former companion, Guts, and their comrades in the Band of the Hawk. As fans eagerly anticipate any news about future adaptations from this gloomy series, cosplay enthusiasts continue to recall the tale of these complex friendships, often referred to as “best frenemies”.
For individuals unfamiliar with Berserk: Initially, Guts and Griffith weren’t close companions. Harsh-minded Guts roamed from one war to another, serving as a mercenary for whoever paid him. Impressed by his abilities, Griffith made a concerted effort to get the future Black Swordsman into the Band of the Hawk. Over time, Guts began yearning for more in life than serving under Griffith’s ambition to rule a kingdom and decided to leave on his own. Unbeknownst to him, his actions were laying the groundwork for the Band of the Hawk’s eventual downfall.
Berserk: Guts And Griffith Reunite
Griffith’s world crumbled when Guts chose to depart from the Band of the Hawk initially, prompting Griffith to pursue his ambition in an extraordinary fashion that ultimately led him to the Highland prison. A rescue attempt followed, which in turn caused Griffith to employ his Behelit. With the offer to join the Godhand, Griffith transformed into Femto and has since accrued power as Berserk progresses.
At the time this article was written, there has been no announcement regarding when “Berserk” will resume its anime adaptation. Although creator Kentaro Miura sadly passed away, writer Kouji Mori and Studio Gaga artists are now completing the manga series in honor of their late colleague. When the Band of the Hawk makes its return to our screens, it’s expected to create quite a splash within the anime community.
