Best 4 Season Starter Builds | Last Epoch 1.2: Tombs of the Erased
Bleed Hail of Arrows – Marksman
If you believed that the new season would overcome this dominant Marksman build, you might want to reconsider! This incredibly powerful setup integrates Shifting, Jagged Cuts, and Hail of Arrows. When these abilities are employed together, they enable you to inflict extremely high Area of Effect damage and apply Bleed to everything within the vicinity.
To achieve optimal results with this build, it’s highly beneficial to have the rare Sanguine Hoard quiver. When paired with Jagged Cuts, this quiver significantly boosts the likelihood of inflicting Bleed on your targets. Fortunately, even though it’s a unique item, the Sanguine Hoard quiver is quite commonly found in the game! Even before you acquire it, the build performs well enough during your quest for the quiver.
Apart from its impressive performance, this build stands out due to its user-friendly nature. Essentially, you’ll find yourself repeatedly using the combination of ‘Shift’ and ‘Hail of Arrows’. Occasionally, you can swap ‘Puncture’ for ‘Hail of Arrows’, which is beneficial as it aids in Mana restoration thanks to ‘Mana Warp’ and ‘Sapping Strikes’.
The construction has one potential drawback: it may find it challenging against mobile or smaller bosses, for instance, the Harbinger of Pride. These enemies can quickly dodge the majority of your Hail of Arrows, necessitating you to adjust your position more frequently. It’s not a major issue, but it’s something to be mindful of!
Ignite Frost Claw – Sorcerer
This Sorcerer setup primarily focuses on dishing out continuous fire damage through an unrelenting volley of spells, mainly targeting the efficient clearing of elevated Corruption levels. The primary means of inflicting damage in this build is by harmoniously utilizing Frost Claw with Lava Talon. This adjustment transforms Frost Claw’s Cold damage into Fire, and alters all instances of Chill to Ignite.
Given its primary focus on high Corruption, this build also offers considerable survivability as an added bonus. One essential item for this build is the Ashes of Mortality unique ring. This ring frequently confers a Ward whenever you ignite an enemy, which you will do repeatedly in this build.
Apart from the Reactive Ward, which activates a burst of protection when your health falls below 70%, you can enhance your survivability by increasing your health and utilizing any Leech passive abilities obtained from gear. In essence, you’ll become exceptionally hard to defeat under these circumstances.
It’s quite obvious that this tanky Sorcerer setup doesn’t excel at swiftly completing every type of game content. Instead, you’ll find yourself moving through content at a somewhat leisurely pace compared to other builds. However, the advantage lies in the fact that you won’t have to fret about dying often.
Volcanic Orb – Runemaster
Next on our list of initial builds for Last Epoch 1.2 is the Runemaster’s turn, featuring a highly effective build that unites Volcanic Orb and Runebolt. This class build will also incorporate Arcane Restoration, Attuned Recovery, and Runeweaver passive skills. By casting Runebolt, you can not only replenish your Mana but also receive a protective Ward. What more could you want?
This build is exceptionally user-friendly since it leverages the skill chain feature in Last Epoch. In essence, you can simultaneously press the Volcanic Orb and Runebolt hotkeys. When you have sufficient Mana, you’ll continuously cast Volcanic Orb until your Mana is depleted. If your Mana runs out, you’ll automatically use Runebolt to replenish your Mana and gain a Ward. Simply keep both keys pressed and unleash!
It’s important to mention that the Volcanic Orb can be transformed into a Cold orb by acquiring the Rune of Winter skill within the Mage branch. This extra feature provides an increased chance to freeze enemies, making them more manageable. This function harmonizes with the Frost Armor you’ll employ to boost both your offensive and defensive capabilities.
In summary, the versatility of this construction lies in adjusting gear and passives to tailor your Volcanic Orb. You can accelerate it for swift clearing or decelerate it to inflict more damage on bosses. However, the main disadvantage is that you must simultaneously press two keys, which might cause discomfort over prolonged use.
Devouring Orb – Void Knight
In summary for version 1.2 updates, this Devouring Orb setup emphasizes the Orb itself as the main event. You’ll be utilizing it alongside its key passive abilities, Dark Moon and Cosmic Impact, predominantly.
The construction itself is incredibly easy to handle, as playing it involves merely launching a Devouring Orb and moving within enemy range. Surrounding orbs will inflict massive Void-based damage on nearby foes, exploding when they defeat enemies, adding additional Area of Effect (AoE) damage. Meanwhile, you’re free to employ Javelin or Smite for further destruction of anything that comes your way!
With updates in version 1.2, the Devouring Orb will now offer an auto-cast passive ability! This means it will work automatically without any action from you. To add to that, this build is heavily focused on Vitality, ensuring good survivability. Furthermore, it’s flexible with gear, so you don’t need to farm specific items for most of your leveling process.
As a fan, I’ve got to say that while this build isn’t the speediest when it comes to blazing through content or taking down bosses compared to some others, its simplicity and minimal dependence on unique gear make it an absolute dream for kick-starting a new season!
