As a die-hard fan who has followed Bethany Hamilton‘s inspiring journey from a shark attack survivor to a pro surfer and a loving mother of four, this latest turn of events for her precious nephew Andrew is truly heart-wrenching. The resilience that the Hamiltons have shown in the face of adversity never fails to amaze me, and I can only imagine the strength they must be drawing from their collective experiences.

Shark attack survivor Bethany Hamilton is making an urgent plea on behalf of her family.

On October 12th, the professional surfer announced that her three-year-old nephew, named Andrew, was admitted to the hospital following a drowning incident. He urgently required assistance from a medical specialist.

34-year-old posted on Instagram, “I NEED ASSISTANCE,” accompanied by a picture of his nephew assisting with a surfboard. “Unfortunately, my dear nephew was airlifted to Kapiolani Medical Center on Oahu this morning after nearly drowning last night. Remarkably, he’s still showing signs of life and demonstrating determination.

Bethany, with two elder siblings, added, “We’re at a breaking point. I understand that timely and appropriate medical assistance can significantly influence someone’s survival chances, and right now, we are reaching out to anyone who might have insights on how we can provide my nephew with the best possible care.
