Better Man – TRAILER

As a seasoned film enthusiast who has witnessed the rise and fall of countless stars, I must say that the Better Man trailer has piqued my interest like no other music biopic before it. The CGI monkey portraying Robbie Williams is an audacious move, one that could either be a brilliant stroke of genius or a colossal flop.

The Better Man trailer might just be the wildest music biopic yet, featuring a computer-generated monkey portraying the mischievous popstar Robbie Williams. This intriguing production chronicles his meteoric rise, fall, and comeback as one of the United Kingdom’s top-selling artists of all time. Director Michael Gracey will illuminate the sensational ups and downs of celebrity life, offering an insightful look into the path to stardom, influenced by Williams’ personal experiences and his unique perspective.

This extraordinary musical production will feature revamped renditions of Williams’ famous melodies and memorable performances, accompanied by breathtaking stage designs and dazzling special effects, all crafted by the Academy Award-winning Weta FX team, known for their work on Avatar and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. In this production, Williams shares the spotlight with Jonno Davies, who has previously appeared in Hunters and Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Based on our observations, it appears quite promising and represents the newest aspect of the star following Netflix’s documentary series from earlier this year. Check out our review HERE

The movie originated from numerous interview sessions conducted by the director with Robbie over a period of 1.5 years in Williams’ recording studio in Los Angeles, U.S. Initially, these interviews weren’t intended for a film; instead, Gracey sought to preserve Williams speaking in his own words about his life story. Most of the voiceovers in the movie come from those recorded sessions.

This production features a talented cast that includes Steve Pemberton, a BAFTA® Award winner known for Inside No. 9 and Killing Eve; Alison Steadman, a BAFTA® nominee recognized for The Kings Man and Roald & Beatrix: The Tail of the Curious Mouse; Damon Herriman from Judy & Punch and The Tourist; Kate Mulvany who has appeared in Hunters and Elvis; and Anthony Hayes, star of War Machine and The Light Between Oceans. Additionally, Tom Budge, Raechelle Banno, Jake Simmance, Liam Head, Chase Vollenweider, and Jesse Hyde complete the impressive cast lineup.
