President Joe Biden has his family’s back.
Just as President Donald Trump was about to depart from office following his second inauguration on January 20th, he granted last-minute pardons to some of his family members. This group included the former spouses of a reality TV personality who appeared on “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” specifically Meghan King Edmonds.
Among the final pardons granted by the 46th President of the United States were those for James Biden, his wife Sara Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens (his sister), her husband John T. Owens, and another brother, Francis W. Biden. For those who recall the series “Bravo,” King Edmonds was momentarily married to Cuffe Biden Owens, who is the nephew of Biden and son of Valerie and John.
In a statement issued by the White House, Biden expressed that his family has been continuously targeted with hostile actions and intimidating remarks, driven purely by a malicious intent to harm him – the most vile form of political rivalry. Regrettably, he sees no indication that these attacks will cease.
As an ardent supporter, I passionately assert that the principle of justice must reign supreme, and I remain hopeful that our robust legal framework will triumph over political maneuverings in the end. Regrettably, unfounded and politically tainted investigations can bring devastating consequences to those unfairly targeted – their personal safety, financial stability, and family’s wellbeing are all at risk. It’s disheartening to see that even when individuals are innocent and eventually cleared of any wrongdoing, the mere suspicion can tarnish their hard-earned reputations and finances beyond repair.
So, Biden protected his family in the wake of a new administration.
For this reason, I’m using my constitutional authority to grant pardons to James B. Biden, Sara Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John T. Owens, and Francis W. Biden. It’s important to note that these pardons do not imply they’ve done anything wrong, and accepting the pardon should not be interpreted as an admission of guilt for any offense.
In October 2021, King Edmonds and a Los Angeles attorney got married only three weeks into their relationship. But their bond weakened swiftly, and they parted ways merely two months after the wedding ceremony.
The reality star, who is the mother of Aspen (8), Hart, and Hayes (6) from her previous marriage with Jim Edmonds, explained in 2022 to Us Weekly that she had no desire to hastily enter into a new relationship. She stated, “It wasn’t me. That was all him.” She further clarified that she had never wanted to remarry, but due to her compassionate nature, she simply wanted her partner to be content. She added, “I know what it’s like to join a family that already has children. I have three kids myself, and I did the same with my ex-husband. Jimmy also had four kids before we were together. So I understand the feeling of wanting to be part of that family unit.
Even though their relationship ended, the ex-Housewife still cherishes warm recollections about the Bidens.
She observed that his family is truly remarkable. To put it simply, there’s nothing negative I could say about the Bidens. They exuded warmth, normality, and a genuine welcome. It was as if they were an extension of my own family.
