As a long-time fan who has witnessed the rise and fall, and now the triumphant return of Big Brother UK, I can hardly contain my excitement! The mere thought of another season of both the regular and celebrity editions fills me with an indescribable sense of nostalgia tinged with anticipation.
Next year, Big Brother UK will celebrate its 25th anniversary, with ITV confirming a new season for both the standard and celebrity versions.
Ahead of the final episode of the popular reality show’s current season, the network has officially confirmed a third season renewal set to air on the same channel.
In the upcoming spring season, ITV will broadcast its second celebrity edition, where another batch of well-known personalities will compete to win, just like David Potts did previously.
Applications for the upcoming season of our flagship program are now available, and anyone confident they can participate in the original social experiment is encouraged to submit their application on the Big Brother website.
Since moving to ITV in 2023, the series has solidified its presence across ITV’s platforms and has been a favorite among our audience. This is according to Paul Mortimer, who holds the position of Director of Reality Commissioning and Acquisitions at ITV.
He added: “Together, Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother have grown audiences on ITV1 and ITV2 and amassed almost 100 million streams on ITVX.
Indeed, we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back into the House next year for another round of Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother! These shows will undoubtedly deliver even more fascinating and hard-to-forget scenes in 2025.
Similarly to Mortimer’s remarks, Katy Manley, the head of Initial Productions, expressed her agreement, stating that “both shows have strongly connected with viewers, and we are eagerly anticipating creating more”.
She found: “Just like before, audiences can eagerly anticipate that Big Brother will continue to keep the Housemates, both famous and ordinary folks, guessing.
After transitioning to ITV, the show is currently being presented by AJ Odudu and Will Best. It’s likely they could reappear in upcoming seasons, but as of now, their return hasn’t been officially announced.
