Big Brother Legends Rage Over Controversial Survivor 50 Cast Choices

The reality show “Survivor,” renowned as one of the greatest ever produced, has sparked numerous imitators since its inception. Just concluded is Season 48, available on Paramount+, and viewers are eagerly anticipating Season 50, featuring familiar faces from previous seasons. However, even veterans of “Big Brother” have opinions about the cast CBS has chosen for Season 50.

Supporters expressed concerns about the lineup for Survivor 50 from the moment it was revealed, despite featuring two enigmatic players from Season 49. Some felt that the legacy returnees were too conspicuous, while others lamented the absence of recent standouts like Carolyn Wiger. Now, notable figures from Big Brother, such as Janelle Pierzina (known for her role in The Traitors Season 2), have voiced their criticism on Twitter about the cast selection. In her tweet, she stated:

It seems that whoever produced Survivor season 50 doesn’t grasp what true fans desire. I, myself, am an avid fan but find the more recent seasons less appealing. It’s puzzling to me how they could overlook characters like Jerri, Amanda, and Carolyn – these individuals are practically gold in terms of ratings. I’ve come across a list that has been circulating, and I sincerely hope it’s not genuine.

Similar to how contestants on shows like “Big Brother” and “The Traitors” aren’t shy about expressing their thoughts, Janelle didn’t hold back either when she saw the rumored cast for Survivor 50. What disappointed her was the official roster that the network revealed, as it featured a large number of well-known, popular characters who won’t be participating in the game. To make matters worse, personalities like Coach and Colby have already had multiple stints on the show.

Paramount Plus offers access to ‘Survivor’s entire collection and more at just $7.99 per month or $79.99 annually. Upgrade to their Essential plan for an ad-free experience, or step up to the Premium plan for double the content with Showtime integration, available at $12.99 a month. Additionally, save by opting for the annual plan, which gives you 12 months for the price of 10. Check out this deal now!

As a die-hard Survivor fan, I can’t contain my excitement for Season 50! Ever since the show transitioned to all new player seasons, the anticipation has been at an all-time high. While the monetary prize remains unchanged, the strategy and gameplay in these returning player seasons are far more intricate. However, it seems that not everyone is completely satisfied with the contestants chosen by production this time around.

Another well-known figure from the Big Brother universe, Dr. Will Kirby, voiced his opinions on Twitter regarding potential contestants for Season 50. Here’s a rundown of the individuals he suggested:

If Gervase, Sean Rector, Jerri, Fairplay, Rob Cesternino, and Boston Rob aren’t there, then I’m not interested. Farewell to Survivor CBS. (Rest In Peace)

Even though Boston Rob wasn’t necessary on Survivor 50 ( frankly, he’s competed 5 times before), the other names in this lineup are strong ones. Fans have been eagerly waiting for Cesternino’s return for quite some time now, but it hasn’t happened yet. And who wouldn’t be excited to see Jerri Manthey, the original Survivor villainess, back on our TV screens?

Among the anticipated cast members rumored for the 50th season of Survivor, three-time participant Amanda Kimmel and Natalie Bolton from Micronesia stand out as my personal favorites to return. Fortunately, there’s also a representative from the notorious Black Widow Brigade, Cirie Fields, who will be competing again.

Before we enjoy a new season featuring returning players, it’s likely that Survivor Season 49 will air first, possibly in the fall, as part of the 2025 TV premiere lineup. We’ll simply need to keep an eye out for updates regarding the next two seasons of this popular series.
