Big E Considering WWE Return If Next Neck Scans Come Back Positive

As a longtime fan who has witnessed Big E’s incredible journey in the WWE, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions upon hearing his latest update about his potential return to the ring. On one hand, it’s heartening to see him remain cautious and prioritize his health, given the gravity of his injury. On the other, it’s hard not to miss the electrifying energy he brings whenever he steps into the squared circle.

The career of professional wrestler Big E has temporarily paused due to a severe injury he sustained during a March 2022 episode of WWE SmackDown. In this incident, Ridge Holland performed an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on Big E, causing him to land on his head and fracture vertebrae C1 and C6 in his neck. Fortunately, there were no ligament or spinal cord injuries, and he didn’t need surgery for recovery. However, Big E has expressed caution about returning to the ring, viewing any physical involvement as a risk or gamble.

Big E Shares Optimistic Perspective on WWE Return

Big E might be feeling the power once again.

In an interview with Sports Talk Philly, Big E disclosed that he has scheduled additional neck scans over the coming months. He plans to reassess his professional wrestling career based on these results.

Day by day, I’m making my way through life, and although it may seem like a common phrase, I have scans scheduled again in three to six months. If the results are positive and the doctors advise it’s safe for me to return, we can discuss that possibility then.” – Big E explained.

Since his neck injury almost three years ago, Big E’s most hopeful comments about a wrestling comeback have been heard. Despite occasional hints of desire to compete again, the multiple-time tag team champion typically expresses gratitude for his career achievements over the past decade and more. He stresses that he is comfortable retiring if he feels it’s necessary to fully retire from the sport.

Big E said he makes an effort to limit his worries on matters beyond his control. If the chance arises for him to return to the ring and he can do so safely, he’s ready to give it his all. However, if not, he’s got a clear plan for what he wants to achieve, and he’s looking forward to that journey as well.

It seems that Big E’s journey within the WWE hasn’t veered too far from its original course; he’s merely donning new roles. Off-screen, you might find him on WWE premium live event pre-shows, providing analysis alongside ex-WWE superstars and broadcast talent. In addition to his on-screen responsibilities, Big E lends a hand with the WWE Next In Line (NIL) program, attending tryouts to identify promising collegiate athletes who might one day become sports entertainers in the WWE.
