Exciting news! The popular comedic series “Big Mood,” featuring Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West on Channel 4, has been confirmed for a comeback. A second season is now in the works.
Back in the spring of 2024, I had the pleasure of diving into a fresh, laughter-inducing comedy series that took over Channel 4’s streaming platform like a storm – surpassing Derry Girls as their biggest new comedy launch since its debut! The brilliant Camilla Whitehill penned and brought this gem to life.
In a continuation of their roles, Doctor Who actor Coughlan and It’s a Sin performer West are set to reprise their characters Maggie and Eddie, respectively. The upcoming season resumes a year after the events of the previous installment.
A year has passed since Maggie and Eddie last met, having no communication or contact whatsoever as friends who were once inseparable.
At the wedding, Eddie’s unexpected return finds Maggie not by herself. Instead, she faces rivalry from Whitney, a seemingly irksome spiritual healer with an overly optimistic demeanor.
Could Maggie’s unique blend of turmoil fit into Eddie’s fresh start, or might Eddie permanently part ways with Maggie?

Coughlan said in a statement: “Deeply grateful to everyone who loves our mad, funny, sad show.
One joy I’ve treasured immensely is crafting this tale, and I’m ecstatically thrilled that we’re returning to continue the narrative of Maggie and Eddie. Here’s to the next adventure! (Let the rats be prepared)
In the meantime, West expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Can’t wait to reconnect with my closest friends for series 2! I’m really looking forward to reading the scripts and diving back into the world of Eggie!
whitehill stated: “Since I didn’t have a backup plan and lacked transferable abilities, I’m thrilled beyond words to bring Big Mood back for another go!
It’s been quite a delightful experience to find out that many others share my unique tastes, which might be considered unusual by some.
I’d like to express my heartfelt appreciation and endless gratitude towards everyone at Channel 4, Dancing Ledge, and Fremantle for their unwavering support and dedication. However, my persistent prankster antics against Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West persist without a pause. They can never outrun me from this playful chase.
