Bindi Irwin is on the mend.
After experiencing a health crisis that prevented her from attending an annual tribute for her late father Steve Irwin, the 26-year-old provided an update on her situation, disclosing that she has since made progress and is now in the recovery phase following several medical procedures.
Following several months of an unsettled appendix, I unfortunately needed medical attention on the day of our Steve Irwin Gala. On Instagram, May 12th, Bindi shared a video from her hospital bed, one hour post-surgery, labeling it as ‘successful’. Her appendix was taken out, together with 14 additional growths (having had 37 endometriosis lesions and a cyst removed two years prior).
For more than a decade, the star of the show “Crikey! It’s the Irwins” has fought against endometriosis – a condition characterized by the growth of abnormal uterine tissue outside the uterus, leading to intense pain and occasionally infertility, as recognized by the World Health Organization.
But those weren’t the only operations she underwent.
After mentioning that her healthcare professionals were addressing a hernia she had developed during childbirth four years prior, Bindi shared that she was grateful to be in the phase of her treatment where she’s recuperating, expressing it as, “Fortunately, I am now on the path towards healing.
Additionally, she expressed heartfelt appreciation towards her husband Chandler Powell, their 4-year-old daughter Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, and her brother Robert Irwin, who heroically took over at the event when she had to withdraw her attendance.
Credit goes to Robert for masterfully orchestrating the event, as he effectively garnered funds and attention for Wildlife Warriors. Bindi added, expressing her gratitude. My family has consistently stood by my side, and I hold a deep affection for them, especially dear Chandler and sweet Grace.
Without mentioning an exact timeframe for her recovery, Bindi confidently stated that she would regain her health sufficiently to participate in another Steve Irwin Gala taking place in Australia later this year.
She reassured me, “Don’t worry, I’ll meet you at the upcoming Steve Irwin Gala in Brisbane in November.” For now, let’s focus on healing.
Closing out her message, she added, “Sending my love to you all.”

He explained that he has been experiencing severe muscle spasms throughout his body. Currently, he described feeling a lingering tingle from his knees to his toes as extraordinary, during an episode of his Trading Secrets podcast in March 2025. To add context, he mentioned, trying not to come off arrogant, that about two to three weeks ago, or perhaps a month ago, he was squatting approximately 295 pounds. At present, however, he’s unable to perform even a single-leg squat without falling over – it’s as if he’d had a stroke or something similar.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”
In a game held in December 2024, an AHL player got hurt when another player’s skate accidentally sliced him open. He needed 25 stitches for the wound. The former star of “Kim Possible” added, “Regrettably, a piece became stuck at the back of my eye, and it’s not safe to have surgery to remove it right now. My doctors are keeping a close watch on me, and I can see clearly for now.
The actress expressed her heartfelt gratitude for being alive. She mentioned her deep affection for her daughters, husband, family, and friends, stating, “I felt my life pass before me, and I urge you all to seize every opportunity to embrace those around you. Life is fragile and can shift unexpectedly.
Although the internet can sometimes be harsh, Amy Schumer is grateful that it provided her with valuable insights in this instance. Speaking on a January 2025 episode of Call Her Daddy, she reminisced about the criticism she received following numerous interviews, saying “Everyone calm down,” but then medical professionals started commenting and suggested that something might be amiss due to her swollen appearance. Surprised to be trolled by doctors, Amy was led to suspect Cushing syndrome after the doctors speculated high cortisol levels or steroid injections could be the cause. Upon realizing she had been receiving steroid injections for her scars from procedures like a breast reduction and C-section, Amy connected the dots and realized this might have caused the Cushing syndrome. She explained, “I didn’t know about Cushing syndrome if it weren’t for the internet giving me a hard time.” Now, Amy is simply relieved to learn that she’s healthy and will recover from the condition. As she expressed in her February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Discovering I have a type of Cushing that will eventually resolve itself and leaves me in good health was the best news possible.
Hailey Bieber faced a terrifying incident in March 2022 during breakfast with her husband Justin Bieber when she started exhibiting symptoms similar to a stroke. As she recounted later on YouTube, she couldn’t respond properly when asked if she was okay, and then struggled to speak as the right side of her face drooped.
Justin inquired again, but Hailey, uncertain, could not respond. When she tried to speak, she found it difficult. After this, she decided to go to the hospital to ensure she was alright.
In the hospital, they discovered a small blood clot in her brain, which was classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further examination at the University of California, Los Angeles revealed that Hailey had a hole in her heart known as a patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot is believed to have traveled into her heart, escaped through the PFO, and moved to her brain, causing the TIA.
Hailey underwent a successful PFO closure procedure and reported feeling well since then.
2022 was a challenging year for both Hailey and Justin Bieber as they each faced their own health issues. Specifically, in June, the “Baby” singer revealed his diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition affecting the facial nerves which led to temporary paralysis. This resulted in him having to postpone the rest of his Justice World Tour. In an Instagram video at the time, Justin described it as a virus attacking the nerve in his ear and causing paralysis on one side of his face. He pointed out that his eye couldn’t blink, he couldn’t smile on that side, and his nostril wouldn’t move – indicating full paralysis.
Interestingly, Justin also mentioned it became increasingly difficult for him to eat due to the condition, but fortunately, the paralysis subsided over time. Hailey shared in a June episode of Good Morning America that Justin is doing well now and is feeling much better, despite the unexpected and scary situation. She expressed her relief that he’s recovering nicely.
Jamie Foxx initially chose to keep secret the details of his hospitalization in April 2023. However, later on, during his 2024 Netflix special titled “What Had Happened Was…”, he shared his ordeal. One day in Atlanta, he experienced such a severe headache that he asked for an aspirin, but before he could receive it, he fainted and lost consciousness for approximately 20 days.
Upon visiting a doctor, he was administered a cortisone shot and sent home. Concerned about his condition, his sister Deidra Dixon drove him to the hospital where they discovered he had suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke. Following a surgery on the 20th day, Foxx woke up on May 4 in a wheelchair and was unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “because I truly needed them all.
In 2019, Emilia Clarke, who is known for her role in Game of Thrones, penned an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” in The New Yorker. The actress described a severe headache at the gym that led to vomiting and worsening pain, which she suspected was damage to her brain.
She was rushed to the hospital for a scan, where doctors diagnosed her with a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening type of stroke caused by bleeding around the brain. She had undergone immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, describing the pain as excruciating.
During recovery, she experienced aphasia and began speaking nonsensical words. However, a week later, the aphasia subsided, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. In 2013, a follow-up scan revealed a growth had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery.
She shared that when they woke her up from the second surgery, she was in agony. The procedure had failed, and doctors explained that her chances of survival were precarious if they didn’t operate again. This time, they needed to access her brain through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia is now reportedly “at a hundred percent.
Cori Broadus, the daughter of Snoop Dogg, is thankful for her family’s support following a serious stroke in January 2024. As she shared with TopMob News correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024, her loved ones quickly rallied to assist her when she informed them about the stroke via text and picture. Due to additional health complications, Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than anticipated. She explained that although she could have left after the stroke, her lupus wasn’t doing well, her kidneys were failing, and there was a lot going on. Today, Cori is recovering well and stated, “I’m doing great… I just had to work on some motor skills, but other than that, I was fine.
During her twenties, the health of Shailene Woodley presented some significant challenges. She experienced hearing loss, struggled to walk for extended periods without needing long rests, and found many foods upset her stomach. This was a complex mix of health issues and conflicting diagnoses from various doctors.
To seek answers, Shailene, who has a holistic background and studies herbalism, decided to consult both traditional medical professionals and independent healers. This journey lasted for a decade.
During this time, she also grappled with the mental impact of her physical discomfort. She developed a fear of food due to its painful effects on her stomach, which led to issues such as body dysmorphia, confusion about identity, and feelings of insecurity within herself.
However, after addressing both her physical and mental health concerns, Shailene is now feeling much improved. She shared that her health issues eventually resolved themselves, leaving her in good health today.
