2022 was when EA and Respawn Entertainment unveiled their collaboration with Bit Reactor, a studio made up of ex-developers from XCOM, to create a fresh strategy game set in the Star Wars universe. Since then, specifics about this upcoming title have been hard to come by, but it appears that an official announcement might be imminent.
According to Twitter user @bogorad222’s claim, they expect the strategy title will be unveiled at this year’s Star Wars Celebration event in Japan (April 18-20). The game is rumored to hit platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. However, it’s mentioned that the complete release schedule is yet to be decided (“TBD”), which might imply a possible Nintendo Switch 2 version too. Furthermore, Insider Gaming claims they have enough proof from @bogorad222 to consider this leak as authentic.
At present, not much information is available about Bit Reactor’s Star Wars title, aside from the fact it’s being built using Unreal Engine 5. Following last year’s layoffs at Respawn Entertainment and the cancellation of an unannounced Star Wars project, Bit Reactor has assured everyone that their own project has been unaffected.
As a thrilled Star Wars fan, I’ve managed to snag some juicy details about the upcoming Respawn Entertainment RTS game! We can expect an official announcement and a captivating trailer during the Star Wars Celebration in Japan from April 18-20. It seems it will be available on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and the Epic Store, but the exact lineup is still under wraps. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates! 🤫
