10 years ago, Yuki Tabata’s manga “Black Clover” was first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and one of the anime directors is marking this anniversary by revealing a fresh perspective on how Noelle Silva will adapt to the anime. Currently, “Black Clover” is in its final story arc, with creator Tabata switching to a quarterly release schedule for the concluding chapters in Jump SQ magazine. This means that every few months, fans get to witness another thrilling stage of Asta’s battle against Lucius Zogratis, deciding the destiny of the Clover Kingdom.
It’s looking likely that Black Clover will conclude within the next year, given the rapid pace of its final arc development (unless there’s a major twist in store for the last chapters). This means fans have much to rejoice about reaching this milestone, including those involved in the official anime release like Shunji Akasaka, who has contributed as an animation director and in various other roles. In celebration of the anniversary, Akasaka even shared a sneak peek at Noelle Silva’s new form as it will appear in the anime (spotted by @misopehta_menos on X). Take a look below to catch a glimpse of this exciting reveal!

Black Clover’s Anime Still Has Lots to Show for Noelle
Akasaka’s art features distinctive homages to Asta, Yuno, and Yami, but what sets this Black Clover tribute apart is the unique focus on Noelle. This depiction of Noelle is only found in the manga at this time, as it occurs prior to the final arc and involves a sequence of events yet to be adapted into the anime. In this manga-exclusive portrayal, Noelle transforms into a special version of her Valkyrie Dress armor, known as the “Dragon Form.” This transformation is possible due to her alliance with Leviathan, the Sea God, following the loss of her connection to Undine and the Divine Armor after the battle against the Dark Triad.
This form is also set to appear when the Black Clover anime potentially comes back in the future, although no official announcement has been made as of now. If it does return, there’s a lot of material for the new adaptation to cover, not just the ongoing final arc but numerous events that occurred beforehand. There are still many fights ahead in the storyline that the original anime had yet to touch upon when it concluded a few years ago.
Is Black Clover’s Anime Ever Coming Back?
It’s not easy to imagine that the anime adaptation of Black Clover will never resume again given how certain series have returned for their final episodes years after their initial conclusion. However, there’s optimism that the wait for Black Clover won’t be as prolonged as what fans endured before Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. With Tabata’s original Black Clover manga wrapping up within the next year or so, it seems fitting that the anime would coincide with its conclusion and make a comeback officially.
The new Black Clover anime series, managed by Pierrot (who is also responsible for the latest Bleach anime), might adopt a different format than fans anticipate. Instead of following the usual weekly release and surpassing over 100 episodes like the original, it could be more suitable for a seasonal production plan with its new series. This shift in schedule may ensure that Black Clover’s anime return maintains the same high-quality visuals as its best moments, which fans will undoubtedly appreciate, regardless of the format chosen.
