Now, two to three chapters are published each season. As we approach the final chapters, Black Clover is nearing its conclusion, and it’s predicted that only a few more installments remain. Although the exact date hasn’t been disclosed yet, the climactic storyline revolves around Yuki’s heroes battling their main adversary, Lucius Zogratis. Following the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc, the manga takes an unexpected turn as peace in the Clover Kingdom remains elusive.
Lucius harnesses Soul Magic to control souls, either cleansing them or employing them for his personal gain. In this current conflict, he’s using the souls of both deceased and living residents from the Clover Kingdom, making the battle exceedingly challenging as the Magic Knights grapple with fighting their dear comrades. The latest chapters (379 and 380) in the Spring 2025 issue of Jump GIGA unveiled a mind-blowing plot twist that’s been years in the making within the manga. A visually stunning color spread showcasing our cherished Magic Knights perfectly captures the essence of spring as they persist in their struggle against Lucius.
What Happened in Black Clover Chapters 379 and 380?
In Chapter 379, during their battle with Lucius, it’s revealed that he has connected all the kingdom’s grimoire towers using a colossal spell. He explains that these grimoires are divine wisdom bestowed upon humans, enhancing their abilities. However, when a mage dies, the grimoire returns to the tower that originally granted it. With his power, Lucius can now utilize all those spells. Meanwhile, Ryuga observes from afar and deduces that Lucius’ chest is his vulnerable spot. Asta was poised to deliver a devastating blow, but Lucius manipulates him with an illusion of his mother, Licita. Liebe, tormented by guilt, finds himself unable to attack her.
In the ensuing exchange, each combatant suffers lethal strikes, placing the outcome of the fight squarely on Yuno’s shoulders. In the subsequent installment, the Magic Knights bear witness to the further distortion of their cherished kin’s and acquaintances’ souls. Yet, unexpectedly, Yuno enters the fray, astonishing Ryuga with his prodigious might. Since he’s immobilized, Asta hands over his demon-wielding blade, a weapon once possessed by Licht, to Yuno. As the chapter concludes, Yuno brandishes his wind-blade and Asta’s demon-wielder sword, readying himself to confront the adversary all by himself.
When Is Black Clover Going to End?
As we converse now, the last arc of Black Clover has been underway for almost three years, and it’s evident that Tabata is meticulously crafting a fitting conclusion. Yuno has taken on the battle in Asta’s stead, combining their strongest magical and anti-magical skills, while Lucius launches a horrifying new wave of resurrected enemies from the Clover Kingdom’s past. The Summer 2025 release promises excitement! Yet, a fight between Yuno and Lucius as the final battle seems unlikely to be the series’ conclusion, especially given the need for at least one chapter dedicated to an epilogue. Consequently, it appears that Black Clover is far from wrapping up with the Summer 2025 issue.
As a die-hard fan of Black Clover, I can’t help but feel the excitement building as we approach the end of this epic journey. There are still several threads left unraveled before we can officially close the chapter on this magical tale, and the anticipation for Season 5 to resume is palpable. Asta’s predicament has left us on the edge of our seats, but I have a strong feeling that he’ll make a glorious comeback to the fray before the final battle concludes.
The thought of witnessing Yuno’s powers combined with Asta’s anti-magic is almost too much to bear! But what truly has me counting down the days is the prospect of seeing these two formidable rivals finally put their rivalry to rest, in a climactic showdown reminiscent of Naruto. The ultimate prize? Being crowned the Wizard King and leading the Clover Kingdom into a new era after Judgment Day. I can hardly wait!

I recently noticed that the latest installments, Chapters 379 and 380 of Black Clover, were made available in their original Japanese timezone on May 2nd, or a day earlier for Western readers on May 1st. For those eager to catch up, these new chapters can be found on Viz Media’s Shonen Jump app and Manga Plus platform. The initial three chapters of this manga are complimentary on Shonen Jump, while all chapters are free on Manga Plus, albeit with some viewing restrictions.
Despite switching from Weekly Shonen Jump to Jump GIGA, the reading venues for the manga stay consistent. Black Clover is set to resume with fresh chapters in Summer 2025, and we’ll keep you posted on the exact release date once it’s announced.
