Black Myth: Wukong fox quest – Where to bring the fox explained

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for animals and a penchant for challenging quests, I can’t help but be drawn to the snow fox quest in Black Myth: Wukong. Having traversed countless virtual landscapes, I find myself intrigued by this ethereal adventure that unfolds within the Valley of Ecstasy.

In the style of a Souls-like game, Black Myth: Wukong offers numerous tough-to-crack side missions for you to tackle.

In the third installment, you’ll encounter a mission where you’ll aid a mistreated spirit of a snow fox. If you’re fond of animals, this is definitely worth your time, from an ethical perspective.

To embark on the snow fox’s journey, you should reach the conclusion of Chapter 3, specifically the “Valley of Ecstasy” section.

Stepping through the rustic, archaic entrance leading to the Enchanted Grove of Felicity Keeper’s Sanctum, I found myself halted by an unsettling sight: a lifeless form to my right, adorned with a fox pelt around its throat.

Go and talk to it to trigger the quest.

Continue conversing with this entity, and over time, you’ll transform into a vengeful fox. The ghost will then guide you to the side hall of the New Thunderclap Temple, where the wicked monk who wronged it can be found.

1. Option A: Instead of fast traveling, make your way directly to the entrance. Or, for those unfamiliar with the area, locate the trail made of wood behind the gate, where a body has been discovered.

You’ll arrive at the New Thunderclap Temple just after the red archway with flaming torches.

If it’s your initial visit to the temple, you’ll need to overcome a challenge (since we won’t remain in our animal form during this encounter).

Once the boss has been defeated, it’s now appropriate to proceed towards the monk who resides within the temple. Tread cautiously into the temple’s open space (beware of the sudden loud noises), then move forward to reach the adjacent prayer hall.

You’ll find him in front of the large golden statue towards the end. Get into fox form and approach him to trigger the cutscene, and the fight against Non-Void.

While he’s generally manageable, keep in mind his tendency to frequently vanish. To minimize these frequent disappearances, consider adopting a more assertive approach. However, remain vigilant as his ‘paper assault’ can be tricky to evade, and it requires extra caution.

After this attack, though, there’s usually an opening. We recommend immobilising him at this point.

After defeating Non-Void, make your way back to the wooden gate near the Forest of Felicity Shrine. Speak with the fox pelt once more there, and as a reward for your efforts, you’ll receive a Snow Fox Brush Curio.
