Black Myth: Wukong Gold Ridge Beast – Should you buy it?

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the Man-in-Stone is a character straight out of a classic con artist movie. His transformation from a boss to an NPC offering questionable items is reminiscent of a used car salesman trying to pawn off a lemon.

If you’ve been delving into the expansive realms of Black Myth: Wukong since its debut, just like us, and snatching trophies along the way, there could be a character you’ve encountered that appears… peculiar.

We’re talking about the Man-in-Stone, a character found in Chapter 2.

You’ll come across him in the Yellow Wind Ridge after completing a side quest.

I find his demeanor rather foreboding, perhaps due to the fact that I’ve bested him in a past encounter, where he would trick and mock me for my naivety, only later to reveal himself as a merchant.

Once he’s a merchant NPC, he’ll offer you an item called the Gold Ridge Beast.

You might be pondering if the high price tag justifies its value. Could it possibly prove useful in a future mission?

Or is the Man-in-Stone trying to trick you again?

Let’s take a look.

Black Myth: Wukong Gold Ridge Beast – Should you buy it?

If your initial instinct is not to trust the Man-in-Stone, you are correct.

Do not buy the Gold Ridge Beast, because it’s another scam from the fraudster.

So save your 12,800 Will, because he’s cheating you once again.

But is the Gold Ridge Beast completely pointless?

What does Gold Ridge Beast do in Black Myth: Wukong?

As we said above, the Gold Ridge Beast isn’t worth buying. So, what’s the point of it?

Well… there isn’t one. It’s not an important item, and all you can do is sell it for Will.

It’s a bit like those gold pieces you find, but with a higher value.

As a fan, I’ve come across this stone statue vendor who wants 12,800 Will for his wares, but if you ever decide to resell it, you’d only fetch 6,000 Will.

As a cinephile, I’d advise against splurging your hard-earned Will on that item the merchant is offering. It might seem enticing to have a valuable asset should an opportunity arise, but remember, this merchant has a history of scams. Better to save your money for the next blockbuster movie or a popcorn treat!
