In a surprising turn of events, Black Myth: Wukong might have been the standout PS5 exclusive game in 2024, despite not initially being planned for that platform. Contrary to certain rumors suggesting Sony and Game Science secretly agreed on an exclusivity deal to keep the Xbox Series X|S release under wraps, no substantial proof has ever emerged to validate this claim.

In summary, Yang Qi’s recent remarks indicate that about one-third of the game’s sales were made overseas, equating to around 7.5 million units out of a total estimated sale of 25 million. This suggests that nearly three quarters of the game was purchased domestically in China.
