As a seasoned film enthusiast who has been following the Marvel Cinematic Universe for more than a decade now, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions upon hearing about Nate Moore’s departure from Marvel Studios and the official confirmation of Black Panther 3.
Marvel Studios has officially confirmed that Black Panther 3 is in the works, however this news is accompanied by a mixed message for the studio. As reported by Deadline, Nate Moore – a long-standing Marvel executive who worked as a producer on Black Panther and numerous other projects such as Eternals and Captain America: Brave New World – will be leaving the studio next year to focus on producing projects outside of Marvel. In a statement, Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito praised Moore’s contributions to the studio but also revealed that while Moore is departing, he will still be involved in the production of the next Black Panther film.
At Marvel Studios, Nate is admired for being an exceptional team member as both an executive and a friend. Since 2010, he has been a vital part of our group, and his impact can still be felt in our narratives. Although we’ll deeply miss him, we eagerly anticipate seeing what he accomplishes next and are excited about the possibility of collaborating with him again on our upcoming Black Panther project.
Moore himself has affirmed that Black Panther will indeed make a comeback for a third movie, expressing enthusiasm about using the knowledge gained from Marvel Studios outside of the comic book realm.
As a movie enthusiast who’s had the privilege to work at Marvel Studios, I’ve picked up nearly everything I know about movie-making. It’s been an absolute joy collaborating with a team that shares my love for film and storytelling – much like my fellow Marvel colleagues and our on-set crew. However, I can barely contain my excitement as I embark on using my skills and enthusiasm for cinema to contribute to a variety of theatrical films across all genres, including revisiting the captivating realm of Wakanda in the eagerly anticipated Black Panther 3.
The news of Kevin Feige’s departure from Marvel Studios, anticipated around early 2025, marks the first authentic update on “Black Panther 3”. Ever since the release of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” in 2022, there have been speculations about a third film in the Black Panther series. However, until now, fans have mostly relied on rumors regarding the project. Last month, it was Denzel Washington, who starred in “Gladiator II”, that confirmed his involvement in the movie, with a character created especially for him by Ryan Coogler. This announcement was made during an interview on Australia’s “Today” show, causing Washington to later reach out to Coogler for disclosing details ahead of schedule. Luckily, as per Washington, Coogler was fine with the premature reveal.
What Will Black Panther 3 Be About?
Regarding the potential plot for Black Panther 3, the recent revelation didn’t provide any major hints. Some popular theories suggest that the film might delve into a conflict between Wakanda and the rest of the world following the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where Wakanda’s global role underwent significant change. Another theory proposes a link to Captain America: Brave New World, which could also alter Wakanda’s position on the global stage with the inclusion of adamantium. However, concrete details about Black Panther 3 are unlikely to surface until at least 2025, following the release of Eyes of Wakanda in August 2024, a film expected to have strong connections to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
