Four years ago today, we commemorate the four-year anniversary since the demise of Chadwick Boseman, a renowned star known for his role in Black Panther. On August 28th, 2020, it was sadly announced that he had succumbed to colon cancer at the tender age of 43. His death came as an unexpected blow not only to fans but also to his personal acquaintances, who were unaware of his illness. Since then, Boseman’s Black Panther family has honored him in numerous ways. The release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in 2022 was seen as a heartfelt tribute to the actor. Lupita Nyong’o, who portrayed Nakia in the Black Panther films, continues to express her admiration for Boseman on social media platforms like Instagram, especially on his birthday and the anniversary of his passing. Today, she posted another heartwarming tribute on Instagram.

Will There Be a Black Panther 3?

Although Marvel Studios hasn’t officially announced a third “Black Panther” movie yet, there are strong indications from those involved that one might indeed be in the works.

Last year, Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri, shared with Variety that the past two years have been incredibly rewarding as everyone worked together and supported the project. However, she mentioned they all need some time off now, a chance to reorganize, and for director Ryan Coogler to return to his creative space. As a result, we can expect a delay but are genuinely looking forward to you seeing the next stage.

Previously, Marvel producer Nate Moore explained to Collider, “That’s an excellent query. To set the record straight, it’s not that we’re intentionally avoiding answering the question. We’re eagerly waiting to observe how the audience responds to the film. Ryan Reynolds shares this eagerness too. The idea for a third movie has been discussed, but until the film is released, we choose to be cautious, as you never know what twists and turns might occur.”
