As a long-time Marvel fan with years of comics under my belt, I must say that Black Widow‘s latest transformation into a Venom host is nothing short of exhilarating! The way Erica Schultz and her team have taken Natasha Romanoff’s life experiences and blended them seamlessly with the Venom symbiote is truly commendable.
In a recent development, Black Widow has received a new outfit due to her association with the Venom symbiote. Throughout her life, Natasha Romanoff has been numerous things – from a Russian spy to an Avenger. The latest change in her life is connected to the Venom saga, as she now hosts an alien symbiote. Both Black Widow and her symbiote are still getting accustomed to their new circumstances. However, tensions are escalating between Eddie Brock and his son Dylan Brock, potentially igniting a “Venom War” that may involve all symbiotes in the Marvel Universe, including Black Widow. But before the war officially kicks off, Black Widow is set to undergo a costume update.

Title #1 of Black Widow: Venomous depicts the collaboration between artists Erica Schultz, Luciano Vecchio, David Curiel, Rachelle Rosenberg, and Ariana Maher from VC. The storyline involves Black Widow adopting a symbiote and subjecting it to rigorous training reminiscent of her upbringing. The objective is to mold this duo into an efficient fighting force, capable of defeating the Alchemax-created hybrid of symbiote and science, which has been coined “symbiotech.”
In the infamous Red Room, their training begins for Black Widow, but she swiftly transitions to a more intimate approach. She utilizes significant individuals from her past, such as Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier), Spider-Woman, Hawkeye, Nick Fury, and Agent Phil Coulson, to finalize the symbiote’s education. Afterward, the symbiote reunites with Black Widow, and we witness the stunning new suit that has been tailored for her.

As a longtime fan of Venom, I must say that I’m incredibly excited about the upcoming confrontation between father and son in this symbiote odyssey. With my years of comic book reading and appreciation for both Venom and professional wrestling, I can confidently say that having this fateful encounter inside the squared circle is an inspired choice.
